Bundaberg Floods

It's alright here mate. We got a good spot but we are running low on food and the power keeps cutting out. The water is behind the properties over the road but it would have to rise another 4 meters for it to hit our place I reckon. Anyway looks like a week off work.

First day I could make it in to town. It is quite the mess, cars, boats, water tanks, lawnmowers, you name it it is every where. Massive gouges about 3 meters deep and wide in the roads, houses lifted off stumps and carted 100 meters down the road. The 20 year old bridge has a massive gaping hole in it making it unusable while the 130 year old bridge still stands strong.

you in north bundi?? wifes uncle had a couple of foot through his place, he's 70 odd but ok says it's only chairs carpets etc just things, hope the insurance pays up, they take his premiums for 30yrs quick enough

on another note, we got some rain here in brissie last week, not as bad as 2011 and do you know what, people were complaining that the warnings on flood levels weren't accurate enough....

' They ' said it could be xx.x metres and it wasn't, moved all that stuff for nothing, 'kin guvmnt.

I dont live in North but I have to drive through there to get to town. It takes about an hour to get through there at the moment, it normally takes 10 minutes.
