Cahill

It keeps moving around. From very bad to not as bad blah blah blah. These are nasty injuries and even after healing the chance of re-occurance can be high so IMO Mr Cahill will be very dicey from here on out.

He only has himself to blame. He blatantly wasn't fit enough for Australia but went and played anyway rather than getting into shape for the club that pays his wages.

I know, but your more or less pressured to play for your country, i cant remember the last time he had a rest :(

I do mate, the entire end of the season (y)

If he keeps picking up injuries and playing for Australia... I wouldn't begrudge Moyes for selling him.

An example of country calling.....Makelele being forced to play for France with threats against Chelsea. We don't want it to come to that, now do we.

We certainly struggled mightily without him but then we did have any real wingers or a stand up striker to make the linkage to an on-rushing Johnson. We were so deperata at one point they sent Carsley forward on the attack. But with some wingers and a different mid-field complexion in general the role Cahill filled will have changed or done away with. I doubt will see the 4-5-1 (4-4-1-1) that had the attack go through Cahill.

I agree with Danny, to be honest he put himself at risk of a repeat injury when he went with Oz, he knew aswell as the club did that he was susceptible. He has quite literally tried to run before he could walk. :D

Name a more impactful player on the team bar Arteta.

Cahill is a true champion. Heart on the sleeve, as dangerous as big Dunc in the box for mine. How can you not pick the guy? Sure, as the club grows and the upgrades continue, can you really upgrade on Cahill? Who would you swap him for? I wouldnt swap him for any player in the same possy in the league. I wouldnt swap him for Ballack say, not in a million years.

As for the club versus country debate, why wouldnt you just do away with internationals then Dan? Is a club more important than a country, or better still would you yourself not play for England if they picked you with the excuse 'I might get injured if I play in the World Cup'? The Asian Cup is massive for us as a country, remembering that its not the number one sport in this land. We didnt do so well, but all the time and preperation that Cahill did was directly influenced by Moyes and Irvine. Aussie coaches now work with Club managers to ensure their stars are trained and used in partnership. Sure the Aussies could bill the club for all the meetings and flying around they have to do to fit in with the clubs schedule. Cahill had limited game time at the Asian Cup and we really could have used him more. Wasnt he injured in a trial match anyway?

I put the prosperity of the code in this country higher than a couple of warm up games for the club I love.

In other news Juniniho the little master has signed for Sydney FC. Awesome! Ive always wanted to watch him play and Ill be there at Aussie Stadium to check him out. He's 35 but who cares. I always rated him a star. We were chasing Fowler, and he flew in to be wined and dined but he wanted to play for some other crap side. Also young midfielder David Carney has signed for Sheffield United. Look out for the 50k attacker to be force feeding Beattie this season. He's a learner and will do well for himself. Also Marco Bresciano is joining City. He's a useful player, and will slot into the same kind of role as Skoko at Wigan, should he get a run.

The thing is with Cahill, same as the rest of the Aussies - he's a real competitor. Thats the one quality I [Poor language removed] love. Win at all costs and never know when youre beaten.

Thats why they tan our arse at loads of different sports.

Yeah your right there, Kewell just wont stop putting those Big Mac's down he's determined to get bigger than Beattie.
