Canadians are top people. Theyre abit like Aussies but they arent as good at stuff. All that Ice and Mountains probably. People say Sydney is a bit like Toronto without the amazingly awesome weather. I do feel sad for you having to be so close to the U.S. You guys would be able to smell their BBQ up there.

More along the lines of brisket, ribs, and links. Add a side of coleslaw and potato salad and you're there.

Canadians are better than Aussies at many things, like being modest, complaining about taxes and BBQ-ing when it's cold outside.

And on a serious note, in no one's wildest dreams are Toronto and Sydney similar. Toronto is flat for starters, and much as I love this place, it cannot compare in visual terms to Sydney. But the coffee's much better here, and so are the drivers (not!).

It is indeed. It used to be conventional wisdom that there are 6 "most beatiful cities" in the world: San Francisco, Vancouver, Sydney, Cape Town, Hong Kong and Rio. Having visited the first 4 I can attest to their beauty - for me Cape Town shades the others.

That said, the most beatiful city I've visited is Lucerne - but as it's not on the sea it gets overlooked.

I liked Vancouver when I was lived up in the Pacific NW. Well, I still like it now, too. Whistler is up that way too. Top notch mountain.
