Player Valuation 10p
Quite a few good points being brought about on this forum.
Which leads me to question the man leading it all.
Squad selection.
Why bring in a crock (King) given his track record regading injuries?
Why follow that up with Carragher, who didn't play in any of the games in the friendlys or tournaments in the last 4 years?
Why ask Scholes to come into the squad (see above)?
Steven Warnock?
Only telling the players 2 hours before the game? (see Fozzy's posst before)
etc........ etc............
Is the man lacking, or the players??

MONEY.

It'll all come out eventually.

Carragher has played great to be fair to him.

The 23 man squad seemed to be picked by the press and the FA. I'm not 100% sure why any manager would play Heskey, nor indeed take Heskey, instead of much better strikers, so it seems he simply 'carried on' from the last man, and took the money.

He failed to change anything tonight, and I was disappointed in his Wright Phillips substitution 'yet again'.

We won't win anything with a yes man in charge, so I hope he can prove me wrong.

I did'nt see the point in only giving him a contract that spanned one world cup, thats why he's here we need to win the the holy grail and if it's not this competition why bother getting another manager in for the next one. He's put all his eggs in one basket, purely looking for experience to see him through. As a club manager he has a very good record, he clearly has talant but as he cannot buy players to put in his team he has to build a squad. Maybe if the F.A had said to him you have three world cups and by the third we want it won then he would of been looking toward the future, building a squad and clearing the deadwood. It's not happening for us so Capello is going to be the scapegoat for failings behind the scenes.

Let's be honest BB, noone played great, far from it IMO.
Capello has obviously got his mind set on which players that he thinks is best for his 'A' system. So far too me, there is no plan B... and as always England managers of late never seem to have one???

He needs to grow a pair, quickly.

If Capello doesn't have a plan B by now Slovenia will be troublesome for us. If he is so bullheaded and not shape tactics with a slightly different menu of players then game over. No doubting now Rooney is hurt and must sit. The midfield has absolutely no organization. Somebody flip the light switch and get this thing started.

Why ask him at such a late stage?

England might have had a chance with Scholes in the team. He's that good.

Graham Taylors View

"The supporters, understandably, are very angry and disappointed with this performance. England have been outplayed - technically and tactically Algeria were ahead of them.

Sooner or later we need an explanation from Fabio Capello on the team-selection policy. When you're announcing your team two hours before kick-off, what sort of preparatory work have you been doing for the game if your players don't know what the team is?

If you're the England manager - and I've been there - you've got to expect these questions and I think real football questions should be answered by Fabio.

He doesn't answer them, he's starting to say he doesn't understand the question or gives you back an answer you know isn't correct. He's starting to ask for a translation, which wasn't the case when we were winning games.

I honestly do feel there is something wrong in the camp because nobody was up for this game and yet you would have thought that would've been the first thing they were. Some of the body language suggests all is not well.

We know England have to win their last game and I feel they're in real danger now."

I have to say, he is friggin right. well in turnip.
