Everton have been handed a tricky away draw to Sheffield Wednesday in the 3rd Round of the Carling Cup.

The game will be played around the 24th September. Full details will be confirmed soon.

The full draw;

Blackburn v Birmingham
Reading v Liverpool
Manchester United v Coventry
Tottenham v Middlesbrough
Hull v Chelsea
Blackpool v Southend
West Ham v Plymouth
Arsenal v Newcastle
Luton v Charlton
Manchester City v Norwich
Sheffield United v Morecambe
Sheffield Wednesday v Everton
Fulham v Bolton
Burnley v Portsmouth
Aston Villa v Nottingham Forest or Leicester
West Brom v Cardiff

Yes, it will be tricky, but the draw could have been soo much worse..

We should beat them of course, but it's a cup tie and we play in the UEFA-Cup a few days later, so some of the top players might get a rest in this one.

20th Sept (Thursday) Uefa
23rd Sept (Sunday) Premier League
26th Sept (Wednesday) Carling Cup
29th Sept (Saturday) Premier League

4 days in 9 games, tough, but good to see the blues often.

as we don't have the depth to rotate much, there will be a minimum of training (or none) during these weeks. Player will tire.

Sheff Wednesday with a full squad on form would be a walk in the park, even at Hillsborough.

I think sense should prevail and we should play a B team with some first team, some squad players and some reserves.
