2019/20 Carlo Ancelotti

It’s fine to be critical about any of our managers or players, I will be the first one to do that, but people calling him out and giving it the “he’s not immune from criticism” shouts have yet to actually give a valid opinion as to why he bares responsibility for 1) picking the group of players he only has available to him who are a gang of duds and 2) being able to make them physically put in the required performances week in week out.

See my post above on this current crock of duds we have as footballers.
One criticism is that we do not see any clear Ancelotti identity in the team. What does he want? Klopp also struggled in the beginning in the LFC, but everyone saw what he wanted with the team. Arteta, who started worse than Ancelotti, also has a clear plan for how he wants to play. None of them waited until they got a team of superstars, but started the job right away.

Many Arsenal supporters will also say the same about their players as we do with ours.
Arteta is also quite resolute when it comes to dealing with players who do not have the right attitudes.

The Ferguson comments need to be reviewed properly, he got a couple of performances when the crowd were rocking urging the team and him on, then they reverted to type. Rewatch the arsenal game, they played kids and we were diabolical and bland with no impetus. The players need to take responsibility, no more hiding behind poor management. Too many passengers and unprofessional attitudes, make no mistake, Carlo has a huge job for the next couple of years.

He wants to play 442 or 433 but we haven't had the players especially in this period to do it well. Injuries and the half arsed performances from the players mean he has been constantly having to change his tactics. He has dug out points we haven't deserved in all truth. It's all come home to roost in the last two away games though.

It's clear Ancelotti has put on his defensive stamp on the team, being hard to beat, look at the results since his inception and you'll see that. The goals leakage really slowed down, before today we were unlucky to concede with how Saints goal happened, Leicesters goal being a fluke.

The issue is the midifeld have no abilty and it pins us back. After summer, when CA gets 2/3 of HIS players in, hopefully in midfield then we will see improvement. CA can't magically make these half arsed frauds into footballers.

It will take some time to A. get rid of the dross and B. set his full style with his players.

Arteta needs the same time at Arsenal, Klopp needed that time at Liverpool. Nothing fixes overnight and it took city a hell of a lot of time to put their money to good use.

THE POSITIVE of these horrid shows late on, after the season is finished ofr us, is that is shows CA who is worth keeping and who isn't. Opens his eyes fully to the actual quality.

He's never faced a task of having this many talentless knobheads in a squad ever.

Its not just the lack of talent he's got to fix its the entire personality trait of the squad. Big 2 for 1 fixer upper
Bingo

You can have a lack of talent and still grind results. Look at Sheff Utd and burnley, yeah Sheff Utd have one or two players who maybe could go higher, but they're attitudes are spot on, they are well drilled and they have desire. Burnley, Dyche all anti-football but his teams are well drilled, have desire to fight for each other and have some organisiation.

However having that lack of talent like we do in the middle and that lack of desire is a dangerous, dangerous thing and we are lucky that CA and a few players have managed to get us to 45 points well away from danger.

Now you're talking about formation, and that says very little about playing style.

Are you confident he'll still be here in a couple of years?
He has a reputation to uphold and for whatever reason, he cant send a team out that has the nous to do even the basics then he'll go. We know what he's said recently about not needing the cash.

Look, its a farce of a restart and he's working with some very bad players some of which are looking for the exit and the rest thinking about those 3 weeks in Dubai at the end of July.

Hes come in, half the players have dropped dead from injury, the rest have just clocked off for the Summer.

He is without question the best manager we have had in our history and will probably continue to be long after he retires, he needs as much time, money and support as he can be given.

If we mess this 1 up, the future is black, very, very black.

He’s been here less than 6 months, hasn’t even got his feet under the table properly, with a group of weak untalented money grabbers, who were majorly underperforming, none of whom are his players, who are used to playing in 4-2-3-1 system, which clearly wasn’t working under previous manager Silva. He’s come in and tried to change it for us and get the best out of what he has. Using Liverpool and Arsenal as an example is hardly anything to beat Ancelotti with, both of them have a decent squads with some fantastic players and already had a decent style of football. Also both managers, even Arteta in the January transfer window were given funds to improve their squads and sign the players they wanted to make their team their own.

I think if you’re expecting a lot more from Ancelotti in terms of playing style in the space of 6 months with a group of players that 1) aren’t even good enough and 2) aren’t even his and don’t fit into his usual style system then you’re a bit deluded. It only happens in football manager and FIFA that type of stuff.

If he is backed properly, I am confident as he said he's tired of the short stints and want to build a team up.

If he isn't backed properly. He will be gone and I dont think I'll ever forgive EFC for backing Sam Allardyce abut not Carlo Ancelotti.

I think it will depend entirely on how he his backed, if the board and Brands give him the funds and players he requires and the backing behind the scenes then absolutely. If however we expect him to work miracles and the players are protected as expensive assets then he could walk away and I would bear him no ill will.

At the end of the day it’s like one of our own players Coleman has just pointed out. We can criticise managers and hire and fire them for not getting it correct all the time tactically but ultimately if you’re not committed and don’t want to put in the effort on the pitch and you can’t or don’t want to be motivated then the blame ultimately lies within the players themselves. With this current crock we are screwed. They don’t want it. They want their pay cheques that’s it.

moshiri/usmanov have got the manager they’ve been craving, we have a manager we’ve been craving ( a winner ) now it’s up to the hierarchy to back him.
