Thats twice youve called me a 'tosser'.

Instead of a 'pounds per point' in a 'news outlet' how about you copy/paste your comments into RAWK and see if they agree or disagree with you?

That may be an eye opening experience and something you may care to share on this forum...

I really do wonder how someone can have such a negativity about 90% of the club and knee jerk every single day.

Quite astounding that someone can be so negative about one of the best managers in world football and a team which is...

...a game in hand win away from Europe.
Game in hand
Game in hand

That’s all you can cling onto. That game in hand will probably see us in 9th position.

He hasn’t been one of the best managers in the world at Everton, which is ultimately all that matters.

The points totals were pretty low except for the Koeman season.

Also an argument that getting Top 8 has become harder and that therefore the points totals required to get Top 8 will get beyond low 50's. City, United, Leicester, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal would all expect to have Top 4 or Top 6 ambitions. Throw in ourselves, Villa, West Ham, Wolves and you've got 9-10 teams who realistically think they are Top 8 contenders and therefore challenging for a European spot. If you look at previous seasons (last 6), 56 points is the highest total for a team finishing in 8th. Average for 8th position is low 50's. It's going to be a bit more than that this season.

Whether it's 5th or 10th in the final league table, the points total will be improved. So will the fact that the season still has something riding on it coming into the final 10 games. That's the difference with other seasons. We are competitive and giving a chance for a positions higher than 7th or 8th. Previously we've limped to 7th or 8th.

I think West Ham, and who their manager is, is wrecking few people's heads. Let's see how WHU finish though. They've got a few tough games coming up and could easily be 4th or close to 8th come mid to late April.
This is all based on a conveniently false premise. Points totals are relative to the season they are achieved in and nothing else. I've used the example before that if you replaced two teams from the PL with 2 teams from the Northern Conference we could theoretically get 12 more points, but we would be the exact same side. You're judged on where you finish the table, and then on the quality of football you play. The amount of points really isn't indicative of anything in a relative sense.

If fans were in Goodison we'd be winning far more matches.

These players need the help. They seem to lack motivation from within.
It does worry me that if fans were at the aways we’ve won, we may well have not picked up as many points as well.

Im a Carlo fan, but his subs are constantly awful.

Gbamin clearly didn’t want to put a foot in last night, which is absolutely fine and totally understandable given what he’s been through.
But he shouldn’t have been on that pitch at 1-0 closing out a game like that I’m sure we all agree, and that is 100% on the manager.

but the basic premise hasn't and only because new coaches try and be clever with tactics, most of which only confuse players and take away a lot of natural attributes to fit into the team model. The basics of the game haven't changed but I know you have never kicked a football in anger so you don't really get it., I mean you think crossing is a difficult skill so that's the page you are on matey. It isn't.
I'm not saying the premise changed. These new coaches with clever tactics win a lot of trophies. Weird.

If crossing is so easy why can't a large number of the best players in the world do it adequately?

The aim of the game is too win by outscoring the opponents. that has never ever and will never ever change 11 v11 one ball 2 sets of goalposts. People complicate the game honestly, it's not complicated, the quality of the player available generally makes the difference.

I played football at local level, I could cross a ball on the move at pace with both feet, it's a basic skill, it's just a pass at the end of the day, baffles me the amount of pros who can't cross properly, it's an easy easy skill.

On the flipside, imagine how toxic Goodison would be during these home games? It's extremely hard to defend that home form. Yes the players aren't world beaters but they're much better than Palace, Fulham, Burnley and Newcastle.

Definitely wasn't the right scenario for the lad but it was James who signalled to come off. I dont think we had another obvious option. Broadhead, Nkounkou, 2 keepers, King. No obvious options for midfield subs.

This isn't directed at you specifically because a lot of people do it, but your Sunday league games are not the same as a PL game. It just isn't really very relevant. I'm glad you play and enjoy footy but these dudes are not doing the things you and your mates do.

You're not wrong, the best players tend to win, it would be interesting to see how things worked if teams weren't able to stockpile talent in the way this completely unfair system allows for. What I'm saying is imagine if City had to compensate for paying KdB by not having any other world class players. It would just be a different competition at that point.

exactly it isn't the same, these are highly trained pros you barmpot, if i can do it on a cow field with lumps and bumps everywhere then them on carpets should be able to. Why do you think everyone gets so frustrated with Seamus? It is because crossing is an easy skill and he can't do it properly, it isn't rocket science.

You second point is very valid about the top talent wasting away on benches, squads have ruined the game for me as players would rather be on the bench at Madrid than try and elevate a team like Everton to compete.

Seamus was actually playing really well.
Again, odd sub.

Godfrey has played centre mid, could have been an option.

Anyway, I’ve long given up on this season, as we clearly aren’t good enough as a squad and we don’t deserve European football given our home results.

Once again relying on a big summer window, but the ‘it’s a Euro summer, no ones moving early’ etc is all too predictable.

I do love Carlo, but I can't remember a manager making so many blatant substitute and tactical mistakes. It's so easy to see, and is hugely worrying. I worry that we're all being blinded by his reputation and his extremely likeable nature. I'm not calling for his head though.

Yeah the Coleman sub was not good. But Godfrey was already on when Gbamin was coming on.

It was one of those games where too many players made big mistakes. They should be taking full responsibility
