Player Valuation: £40m
Lee Carsley has declared that he wants to stay at Everton Football Club.

Carsley who been very consistent this season and has produced some outstanding displays has told fans that he wants to stay on Merseyside this season after claims that he wanted to return to the Midlands this summer.

Cars said “During my 5 years here, I have travelled up most days anyway, so the travelling has not been an issue. I will just sit down with the gaffer at the end of the season and see what he thinks on a new contract.”

Carsley who missed mostly the whole campaign last season is delighted to have another crack at Europe again after missing out last time against Villarreal and Bucharest.

“I’ve played in every game this season and I’m very proud of that. I want another crack at Europe, injury prevented it last time around and I don’t want to miss out again.”

Carsley’s contract runs up in the summer and he has had talks about extending it with the Moyesy.

“I feel very proud to play for Everton and it is a massive chance to experience Europe now, so to consider walking away from the club is something I do not want to do.”

Carsley went on to say, “Of course I want to be here next season, I’m sure we can sort something out, the gaffer did express his desire to keep me at the club, so we will have to sit down and sort it out in the summer.”

Has he consistently turned in good performances, from memory of the match reports on here I do no think so. He after all was the one who tackled Tim and put him out for the season. Why could not have done to Rooney in the first game with the manure!

Anyway, moving on, he is 33 year old, so is he worth an extension and for how long, 1 or 2 years. Considering we are in UEFA IMO need to keep him for at least another season to keep up squad numbers.

I love it that 33 is considered ancient in football. He still has a season or two left at this level, and possible a couple after that a level down.

RJ, I have to say having watch well over half our games on TV, he has been a virtual model of consistency. There were one or two games where he looked a little off the pace, but overall he has been one of the better players on the pitch most games.

I'd like to see him get at least another year and possibly two.

I think he's been overlooked and underrated for awhile now. If anyone has "earned" a new deal, it's Super Lee Carsley.

You watch when he plays his last game for us, you watch how "underrated" the evertonians think he is.

Probably get the best send off since... dunc! :D
