Today Lee Carsley has come out and thanked Everton for the oppotunity to play for Ireland again.
"The most important thing is I'm playing well for Everton because if I'm doing that then I've a chance of playing for Ireland," said Carsley.

Carsley's Ireland are paying San Marino next, and although San Marino have NEVER won a qualifying game, Lee knows that if Ireland take their eye off the ball then they might just get their first.
"If we don't beat San Marino then we don't deserve to qualify," he said. "So we're certainly not taking them lightly, but then we're not in a position to do that anyway."
