This is what I think happened.

They knew Villa wanted him and were holding out until something like 8 million was offered then they would've snapped Villa's hand off....Villa went a different direction and bought an american whilst giving the two fingered salute to Rafael who now has to sell Carson cut price to Stoke.

I think he's a good keeper, and he's young (22) and £4mill is a snip. I know he was pissed off with the waiters bully-boy estimations of players to scare teams off. He's seemed settled at Villa.

Stoke's done well.

At least they can sign players unlike some other team I can think of......

Exactly see I and to a lesser extent Neiler have sorted out this whole scenario. Liverpool wanted Barry, Villa wanted Carson obviously Liverpool were trying to hold Villa to ransom over Carson's valuation as they deemed Barry's valuation too much also.

That prompted Villa to sign Guzan and tell Rafael that they will expect a cheque for 18 mil in the post sometime soon... signed off with a etching of two fingers.

I'm a genius.
 
West Brom has said that they will outbid Stoke for Carson.

And anyone who thinks Carson is better than our Timmy needs his head examined.

West Brom just signed him for 3.25M. HAHA! The [Poor language removed] could have had 10M for him 365 days ago!!
 
Although I would not replace Tim with him I dont think hes that bad and would have been happy for him to be back up(y)
