Aguero and Jesus are not out and out strikers!

Kane I agree with, he seems to be an anomaly these days, proper old school striker but he does have good all round play.

Lacazette and Aubamayang play as forwards rather than proper strikers.

Morata is pretty meh and they still really on the likes of Hazard for goals.

Lukaku is strugglin, probably because he is another who's all round game is not quite good enough. He will generally get goals but does he bring others into play?

Messi, Ronaldo, both not traditional strikers either.

All I am saying is having a proper striker does not solve the issue of our other players messing up in good positions. Its not like our centre forward (Richarlison or whoever) is missing chance after chance and the team is geared up to providing that player.

And regardelss what you think of Lukaku and Morata they are out and out strikers aswel, add Kane to that list and its only the RS who dont play with one out of the top clubs really.

Didn't Silva do the same with Deeney last season at Watford? Dropped the bench and sent on when a different option was required. As others point out Silva prefers mobility and dynamism. Cenk and Deeney don't provide that.

No I am not having a laugh at all. Aguero can go wide, he can drop deep, he brings others into play, he doesn't just stand near the penalty spot and feed off scraps. He is an all round player.

Lukaku is generally an out and out striker and that's probably why for all his ability when it comes to finishing the teams he plays for never go to the next level, he is too one dimensional, if you are not feeding him the ball constantly he doesn't offer much else.

It's all about being mobile and flexible these days, not about being just a great finisher. I think Richarlison will fit the bill just fine.

Some huge shouts going out here based on very little information. Nice to see some positivity but let's not get carried away - it's a fine line between being excited by a player's potential and creating unrealistic expectations for them to live up to. Arguably this is what has happened to Davies who despite our good record with him in the team, is derided by a section of the fanbase for not scoring a roy of the rovers style goal like he did against City every week.

I don’t know how but my post in the Beni thread has appeared here. Since I’m here, for the record I think all our forward players need to be more clinical, not just in finishing chances themselves but also making the right decisions. We could have scored plenty of goals if players had squared it for a tap in, you see city players do it all the time.
