Think there's a big chance of us being in Europe next season because of this. Can see Uefa banning the 6 from all European competitions.

Lets face it, they don't want to compete in it.

They probably do, just on their own terms - no away games in Ukraine and no money to the Ukrainian team

Exactly. The human race has lost all fight due to commerce.The only thing that would stop this is consequences of the highest degree with removal from the premier league but that premier league will be bought off too.

Everything I've read suggests the PSG owner is a no on the whole thing. Big personal mates with Cerefin, doesn't see the viability of the proposal.

Hopefully this is the case. If Uefa can keep the German and French clubs inside the tent then this might die a death. I think they’ll hide their time though and just join later probably after the Qatar World Cup

What people don't understand is this isn't a 'sour grapes' reaction. We all already cope with inequity in the game financially. I've said many times that if Everton got the Man City owners, I wouldn't bat an eyelid - it's a shame but it's playing the game you find yourself in. It's the same as diving for a penalty; if you can, do it, it's an advantage.

However, this isn't like that. This is a closed shop, completely taking all meritocracy out of the game. It's creating the strongest glass ceiling imaginable, to the point where supporting a club would be absolutely pointless because you no longer have any aspiration or dream. If these clubs are allowed to continue in domestic leagues and competitions, they could - and would - be playing reserve teams of much more quality than the next best team in the league has after around 10 years, because they're getting 10x the money every single season.

"So you'd be made up if you had that advantage, right?" - no. Because it murders the game - if you're a Spurs fan rubbing your hands together in glee at this, you're a moron, because all this has ensured is that you have perpetuated a completely impenetrable wall towards titles and success forevermore; your club is no longer a football club, but a profit making business.

The Premier League, UEFA, everyone has to go incredibly hard on this. Ban them. All of them. Immediately.

For me, it really is so crucial that there is a big consequence to the teams involved. Something tangible, not a fine that is pocket money to these clubs, not a transfer embargo were they will somehow still sign players anyway. Something serious. A points deduction at the very, very least.

The reality of it is depressing for me though, I don't think this Super League will go ahead any time soon. I'm convinced the Prem will just yield and give in to the demands of "Project Big Picture" from a few months back. Then gradually, the "top 6" will break further and further away, to the point that in 5-10 years time, they may as well just form the Super League because the competition will have completely gone from the Prem.

It's a really big few days in terms of how the mangers and players of these clubs respond, the managers and players of the other 14 schmucks in England and crucially how the Premier League itself responds.

I have zero faith that they'll be dealt with properly over this, which is disgraceful but it is what it is

It just strikes me as cowardice on these clubs parts

They don't want to actually fight for and earn their status as the top clubs, so want their Super League so their dominance can be enshrined without them even having to do anything

As an example, if they were allowed to play on the Premier league and league Cup and fa Cup and this European super league.

Let's take the rs and mancs as an example

Play each other in the Premier league x2
Play each other in the European Super League x2
Then there's the possibility of facing each other in the League Cup x1
Then there's the possibility of facing each other in the FA Cup x1
Then there's the possibility of facing each other in the European Super League in the knockout stage which I'm sure would be a 2 legged affair I'd assume so x2

So there's the potential to have to face a domestic rival 8 times in a season which would be ridiculous. At a minimum they'd be facing each other 4 times.

It's absolutely ridiculous tedious.

Would fair play rules not come into it. They have a closed set up funding that would be completely lopsided. Either something is done or competitive football is dead. It is as simple as that.

There's no way those 6 clubs will face any sanctions for this either way, which is the galling thing.

This is what happens when far, far too much money is involved in a sport.
