Champions League revamp

Bullingham also told the meeting the FA would refuse to grant governing body endorsements – essentially work permits – for overseas players at clubs that participated in the Super League. The meeting, which began at 11am, was marked by a sense that each of the 14 clubs wanted the same thing – which is not always the case – and, as the day wore on, there would be a growing optimism that the breakaway had lost its impetus.

The anger bubbled in plain sight. The 14 have no ill feeling towards the big six clubs themselves and they recognise how important they are to the Premier League product. But it is a different story in terms of their feeling towards the owners of them, together with the executives that do their bidding.

No, I do not like this.

No word 'proposed' in the official statement:

And the wording is quite unequivocal on the ESL's website:
this is where the lawyers will argue on either side and hopefully these arrogant gobshite clubs will be in a hamstrung limbo for years to come, rejecting on the crassness of their greed.

Even if they dont get punished, which they absolutely should but let's face it we all know football is bent so probably wont, the end is nigh for arsenal and spurs. They are massively overleveraged on the stadiums, huge wage Bill's and are doing backwards on the pitch. Spurs have two more assets they can flog but beyond that they're fecked.

those statements from the shithouse 6 are a disgrace, no credit to any of them (or the foreign teams) for backing down, but fair play to the legacy fans from all clubs, and the rent boys who turned up at the bridge.

These absolute leech owners and clubs tried to bring the footballing equivalent of the gunpowder plot to the world's game - they tried to blow the whole thing up and take control themselves.

What happened to the actual gunpowder co-conspirators - they were tortured and executed for their crimes.

The 14 pl clubs, la Liga, seria a, FIFA and uefa should carry out the footballing equivalent of torture and execution on these traitors and make sure this disgrace can never happen again.

If they get away relatively scott free because after they buckled and were pressured into the u-turn, what was the point of the resistance to the proposal?

They will perpetually be stains on the game we all love - Liverpool were already there for Hysel, they have some company now.

Never forgive, never forget.

Need to be punished and a message sent. Other wise give it a few years and we will be back here..

The old saying..

Fool me once shame on you...fool me twice.. shame on me..
A few years is optimistic.
They'll already be plotting something else.

Massive points deduction, 1 year ban from Europe.

Its impossible to punish the owners. FSG wont be coming over here anytime soon. There off Carra's Christmas Card list and know they're not welcome. So they're not bothered about protests or abuse.
Any fines will be offset against the club. In fact they may now decide that as it was the fans, players and manager that deprived them of a few dollars, then maybe a spot of asset stripping may be in order to make up the owners personal losses.

Don’t accept the sugar coated PR, “we listened to the fans and footballing community” - rubbish.

Publicity and coms teams going into overdrive, players agents sending out tweets to protect their brands. Never forget these clubs are self interested parasites looking for their next or better deal.

This needs watching, we’ve seen what they are capable off, the next thing will be to try and cultivate Uefa and realise their “vision” within a current format and use what they did as a threat of leaverage to get their own way internally.

Now more then ever when this dies down do we need to be on guard, the famous old saying on liberty applies here, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance......

I’m done with football if they don’t. You can see the narrative already changing on social media and it will only get pushed further. People are shameless. Some fans of those clubs being virtuous the past few days but if by a miracle they are punished in a manner that affects on the field matters that will change and there will be uproar from those people who will say what fits to look noble in a situation. It stinks mate. I thought the game was rotten and monotonous as is but this whole situation has really driven it home.
