Champions League revamp

Brilliant post on twitter @catcherintherye and a couple of superb posts @Saint Domingo about these clubs never being held in high regard ever again. Words such as class, dignity, respect will never be able to be used by this 6 again.

On another note, I'd love Everton to not actually do an Everton......and actually go on an amazing winning streak and qualify for the CL themselves, just to push one more of these greedy knobheads out if Europe.

Think the other 14 clubs would be daft at this point not to plan for a future without the other 6 to safeguard themselves and the rest of football. They’re clearly not sorry and will be trying this again once they think they’ve made it foolproof. It would be very, very dangerous to sit back and do nothing at this stage. Not as arsed about punishment as I am about governmental reform about how clubs are run, and about the other 14 banding together and potentially having another league all set up ready to go with sponsors etc already sounded out in advance.

Absolutely things can be done better. The money spent on players and agents is obscene for a start.

Let's look at Burnley, for example. It's a town that's pretty poor. It's a town that loves it's football and it's club. Burnley have been living the 'dream' over the last few years, raking in hundreds of millions.

Where has this money gone? Has it rejuvenated their facilities and helped their town become a better place? Has it heck. It's gone into the pockets of players and agents, mainly.

A rule forcing Premer League clubs to spend x% annually on community and/or infrastructure development would be great imo. Not a token gesture, make it 25% of tv money.

Wage cap - you can pay players whatever you want, but it cannot exceed 75% of tv revenue. We all know that the more you're on tv, the more money you get, so the kopites, for example, would still be operating on a 'bigger' level than Southampton, for instance. This allows the owners, to have their noses in the trough also, as merchandise and matchday revenue is basically theirs.

There's many, many ways the game can get better, but that's not what these people want.

I couldn’t agree more with this post. We need to push for stuff like this. I’m a viewer from overseas but I hope you guys put this stuff in place. Not only is this just the right thing to do, but the money fans put towards the clubs as well as revenues from outside like tv money should go to the communities.

also these things aren’t forever, this period where the premier league is popular could disappear just as easily as it got here.

City/Chelsea were forced into signing for this. It wasn't their initiative. This was doing of the American owners of Liverpool, United, Arsenal and Spurs. They deserve the punishment and blame, rather.

No one is forced to do anything.
