Bangkok Post reporting that Chang are negotiating to extend the sponsorship agreeement:

Chang beer is offering Everton a more lucrative sponsorship deal after the English Premiership side clinched a Uefa Cup spot. The two parties are negotiating to extend Chang's current sponsorship which expires at the end of next season, said Somchai Sutthikulpanich, a senior official of Thai Beverage which produces Chang beer.

''We are happy that Everton finished sixth in the past season and sealed a Uefa Cup spot. A contract extention is being discussed and a new deal will be more lucrative than the current one,'' he said.

The company is also in talks to find ways for Thai players to play in the Premiership after the project to send three young Thais to train at Goodison Park was stopped because it was not beneficial.

Hope they cough up more money and free beer for all season ticket holders :D

Seriously though, I hope we get the best sponsor and not just stick to what we got, do whats best for the club!

With beckham going to america, taking slightly less money from a american based company might be a great idea for the future.

Sod chang. I think they were a stop gap at best. It must be good money though to consider staying with them. I'd like to see us backed by a large European company.

We should see a strong rise in income for this. As a guide, the following page provides income from shirt sponsors for the 04/05 season.

http://www.footballeconomy.com/stats/stats_turnover_05.htm

The total PL shirt sponsorship for the 04/05 season was £50m. The 05/06 season saw that rise to £70m. Spurs for instance went from £2.5m a year with Thomson to £8.5m a year with Mansion.

Considering we had a £2m deal with Chang in 2005 we should expect at least £5m per year, hopefully more.

I'm a bit surprise chang decided to extend the sponsorship. Given Thaksin's involvement with Man City, I thought they'll jump to them instead. But I don't really care as long as we get a better deal than previous.

Nearly the best bottom line of the day, spot on(y)

With more euro coverage next season it's only right that our sponsorship money should go up accordingly.

They should quadruple at least on their previous paltry amount. Or should we be saying that FFS can't Everton get someone better.

Slightly unrelated, but I feel it may question the site's credibility that Bruce linked too. It lists, as of 2004, Kevin Campbell earning 62 grand a week while he was playing for us, and Big Dunc earning 60k. Seems a little high to me. I thought they were both pulling in around 30k each before Moyes renegotiated Dunc down (and released Campbell).

If anything I thought their shirt stats were low. Spurs for instance jumped from £2.5m (on Football Economy) to around £8m. Our deal with Chang was correctly reported (according to the BBC anyway) so I would have thought the rest would be too.
