Garner is a good right back but does mean playing the ineffectual Iroegbunam in the middle. Still better than playing Keane though.

….agree, Moyes doesn’t like making more changes than necessary.

I’d imagine O’Brien will move to CH and it’ll be a direct choice between Young and Patterson. Young has been very decent this season, he’d certainly get my vote, especially in a back four without the senior leadership of Tarkowski.

Only problem is Chelsea have pace and Young doesn't, I could see him being a walking red card if he plays at right back. Not sure there is an ideal solution though.

….he’s invariably up against speedsters and has coped very well. I don’t see Patterson as particularly fast, indeed he gets himself in some dreadful positions against his winger. Saying that, Moyes might want a look at Patterson as it’s very unlikely Young will be here next season.

The loss of Tarkowski’s leadership could also be a telling factor with the inclusion of Young. Interesting one, in terms of the game I’d definitely go with Young but I don’t mind if he includes Patterson, surely at some point the penny is going to drop and he’ll start defending like a proper full back.

I think we still need three points from this one - to guard against the unlikely but very real possibility that Dyche is still in charge and the whole Moyes thing has been a collective hallucination, brought about by something the Premier League put in all our water. Because if that is the case, we’re still two points from safety.

I wouldn't be playing Patterson he's simply not a right back. If we're playing 3 CBs he can do a job at RWB. For me it's either Garner or Young, or if he sticks with O'Brien at RB I hope we've got a young CB to try next to Branthwaite.

….sadly, can’t think of anybody ready to step up. Reece Welch looked like he had a chance but I don’t think he’s progressed over the past few seasons. A couple with potential behind him but I can’t see them being involved this season.
