It's really really [Poor language removed] isn't it!

Bring back the days of 'why dont you' and 'fraggle rock', 'round the twist', (old) 'grange hill' n that.
Sat here whilst the kids watch some junk with 2 nobheads called **** and Dom in it.

How hard is it to make decent kids tv nowadays. Shocking.
 
My kids watch Go Diego Go, The Backyardigans, and a few others.

Unfortunately, they'd developed a healthy appetite for SpongeBob Square Pants which can be a bit unhealthy sometimes.
 
Do any old people out there remember the Double Deckers? That was class, sheer class. It was a group of kids that lived ... wait for it ... on a double decker bus! :lol::lol:

My lad is addicted to Sooty. The old slapstick humour stuff squirting Matthew with a hose pipe and naughty sweep cracks him up.

Sooty as a product has been bought up by some new lad. I bought a dvd with some of the new shows on it this lad has done and they are dire. Even my lad didn't laugh at the jokes in it. Shame.

got my daughter a version of the 70's famous five tv show on dvd as she has had me read every book to her at bedtime including some by a french author as well.
i wish it wasnt on as much as it is as the kids get the remote and go to cbbc.

An old mate of mine was on that show. He went to some drama school as a kid and had to shout "there's somebody at the door" every 5 minutes which he said drove him crackers. He's now doing an 8 stretch for dealing coke so all in all i think it effected him quite badly

The 70s FF was pretty good. I seem to remember that D i c k had a Grifter bike, which I also had. But the books were excellent and I think I read them all at least twice. I especially liked Five Run Away Together with the evil kidnapping Stick family. Oh yeah, and then there was Five Go A Hike Together, which featured a criminal called Dirty D i c k :lol:

Best line was always when Julian (11 years old?) would take a horrible little common man aside and say: Look here my good man :lol::lol:

Sheer class

Really not very PC at all but good fun nonetheless.

theres now an 'updated' cartoon , names changed etc and americanised, duaghter wishes it was based on the books.
mrs blyton has increased my vocab and introduced me to fantasmagorical words like tatterdemallion.
she's now reading some books about george and timmy called 'just george'.
got eldest lad (5) some just william, originals in old speak, i struggle to read 'em myself tbh, it'd be easier reading them in slang, i had to read all charlotte elizabeths bits the other night,"kith me william, kith me, do you not like girlth, well kith me then, if you dont i'll thcweam and thwceam until i'm thick, i can you know".

**** and dom though i have to disagree, their in the bungalow that used to be on ona saturday morning was worth getting up for, these two are a right pair when they get goin' and have been involved in a few scandals i believe.

what about FINGERBOBS, he now writes The TWEENIES, he gave his daughter a part in it, bet she felt like tirrie spelling 'til she rocked up at the BBC and got her costume, her part....Doodles.
