Player Valuation: £35m
Robinho walks out of Manchester City training camp | Manchester City - Times Online

Given their poor morale at the moment, having their best player ditch training camp for a birthday bash in brazil (although some report its a falling out with Hughes - we can only hope) can't help.

Bellamy joining is not going to help things either - as everyone knows what a colossal c**t he is in the dressing room.

City could yet go down, with their millions.

fantastic. i don't mind city that much, but i just knew with city being city this was bound to make them look stupid.

it's like a little fat bloke who just on the lottery getting up the nerve to ask the prettiest girl out in front of all his mates, only for her to tell to do one.

mercenary city as they will soon be known as as that is the only player they will attract. parker next to eastlands me thinks.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't hate Mark Hughes but if you was a owner with billions would you put a manager who really had never managed someone majour before. He's proven he can't control Robinho, or keep City up in the European race till January.

He can't even attract Kaka with 500 thousand pounds a week.

Its not hughes' fault that citys profile are so low that kaka doesn't want to join. he inherited a poor squad and the only players that have joined have been luxury and flair players - the kind of players that elevate a top six club like our into the champions league, but in a crap side just look as useless as a bull with tits.

Hughes is unproven with money as you say though - and he is also doing a strange pacifying job of pleasing the board and the fans at the same time.

Hughes is could enough to be a top six manager - then they could get a mourinho in to take them further - but whether he can do it, whilst the board destabilise the club with stupid bids for kaka, ronaldo et al. is another matter.

indeed. a slow rebuilding job is needed at city. replacing the squad with better players who are not high profile.

bidding for kaka? it's childish. bellamy is not a bad signing for them.

as long as thwey don't take the newcastle route and wait for moyes to do all the scouting and then trump his bid... i dont care what city do.

personally I think bellamy is a bad signing - disruptive in the dressing room, a bad character, low in ambition, mercenary and injury prone - they've also overpaid for him, to the tune of about £8 million.

He's 29, not going to improve and in three years time will leave for a nominal fee. Whilst he is fit they have a decent player, but what effect he has on his team mates and team position overall who can tell - he didn't uproot trees at Liverpool, got run out of town at Newcastle, was injured for most of west ham.

Hardly good business, but then, its just monopoly money innit.

My morning got even better when I heard this....

And there was all the Shiteh fans last night going - "arr hey ar kid, we'll just buy Messi" [Poor language removed]. OFF. Kaka snubbing them was the biggest pie in the face that club could've got. Not one world class player will go to that club this or next season.

Robiniho was always gonna be a tit and do one, he's known for being an arse.

And all this "Not Hughes fault" I dont buy. Erickson got them in the top ten last season with the same squad, all they needed to do was build on their defence and add squad depth and Sven would've guided them well. But no, they got rid and brought Hughes in who I dont think is that great a manager and cant handle big ego players that they would need to try challange the top 4, be successful.

erricson got them into the top ten, but didn't have to deal with the media attention of being the richest club in the world, or the board bidding for kaka, or getting a team sheet from the owner who just wants to play championship manager with his 5 billion pounds.

with the advent of robinho and those to come - a culture has developed whereby players are just waiting to be replaced by some galactico.

Maybe hughes isn't the best manager in the world, but he's had some difficult, destabilising circumstances to deal with - although, the fact he hasn't got the current squad fighting for their futures does go against him - barring Stephen Ireland.

To be honest I don't think any manager can handle big ego players. Drogba for instance has had some of the finest managers presiding over him and he still throws the toys out on a regular basis. The only thing that seems to keep ego players happy is having their ego massaged by regular success. This was never going to happen at City so buying in those kind of players was madness.

They needed to take our approach and build slowly, or alternatively the Chelsea approach and buy good players that hadn't thus far been at mega clubs. Can you imagine any City players displaying the cammaraderie that Cahill and Arteta did this week?

There's a lot more to success than having the best players.

Galacticos dont work. how many sides have tried to throw together big money signings and simply expect them to work in perfect harmony.

Thats terrible news, i hope it doesnt affect the moral within the squad too much.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

They're at the best clubs though. It's much harder to control ego when you're down the bottom of the league.

But if that's what Shiteh want to be, one of the best clubs, that's what they've gotta do.

That club litterally needs a clear out from top to bottom to be anywhere near the standards of Manure etc, staff, coaches, players, management, job lot. And that's going to take yeaaaars.
