Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian

The Unobstructed View
Thereare 2 progs coming on about big gob, pi5s head clough. one is called damned united about his time at leeds, but the one that bothers me because it will be on around the time of the hillsborough anniversary is made by his family, i really hope they dont start repeating his opinions regarding that day.

Never was a great fan of him but he spoke well of us during the Rapid Vienna game in 85 where he was co-commentator.

he didn't speak very respectfully following hillsborough though, especially when it came to selling his book. nothin' but a p1ss-pot bully of a manager now imo.

micky quinn told a blinder on talksport, big gob rang downstairs to get a youngster to "FETCH HIM A BREW", the young lad said "no chance" to which he got "do you know who i am ?" "yes the youngster said, do you know who i am ?" "no" said cloughie "in which case" said the youngster "no chance......click"

Read the book The Damned United recently. Doesn't exactly paint him in a great light, and apparently the family aren't too keen on the film.

Book was a cracking read though. 2nd best football book I've read (behind Fever Pitch obv).

The film will be on general cinema release on the 27th March. It was financed partly by the BBC so I can't see it being on ITV.

I always thought he was a ******, for what it's worth.

I went to he Wembley game straight after Hillsborough , and it wasnt just Cloughy , all the Forest firm seemed to have little empathy for the whole situation . Nevertheless , he was THE greatest football manager this country has seen . From a resources perspective alone , to win the title with both Derby and Forest , ( while the Mersey Millionaires couldnt win a raffle ; oh sorry the Superteams trophy. ) Moreover to go on to 2 European Cup wins with Forest was not only incredible , but unique . It will not be equalled .
I read the book a while ago . Its decent . Plus , hes always good value , or was , TV , but if you want the definitive on Old Big 'Ead , listen to his comments as we trounced Rapid in Rotterdam .
I was at the game and , as such , never heard it until 20 years later , still made me proud though .
Wish he'd have come to Goodison in 74 . The Liverpool legend would never have happened .

arrogant ****, I'm not really familiar with what he said about hillsborough to be honest!

I still like him though, sue me!

I gave my players a version of the same message at ten-to-three every Saturday: 'I would shoot my granny right now for three points this afternoon.' They knew how important it was to give everything in the cause of victory. Every time. That's why my granny enjoyed more lives than my cat.

I might be an old codger now and slightly past my best as a gaffer, but the FA would know they're safe with me. At least I'd keep my trousers on.

I want no epitaphs of profound history and all that type of thing. I contributed. I would hope they would say that, and I would hope somebody liked me.

I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one.

Players lose you games, not tactics. There's so much crap talked about tactics by people who barely know how to win at dominoes.
Brian Clough

Telling the entire world and his dog how good a manager I was. I knew I was the best but I should have said nowt and kept the pressure off 'cos they'd have worked it out for themselves.

That Seaman is a handsome young man but he spends too much time looking in his mirror rather than at the ball. You can't keep goal with hair like that.
