Just watched cloverfield and though it was a woping film. The thing is my missis thought it was [Poor language removed]. Now usally we agree about a film, but not this one.A few lads in work have seen it an they are pretty 50/50 to. This film seems to be a bit like marmite.Love it/hate it.

So has anyone seen this film yet???

An what did they think???
 
I have yet to hear a good word about it, most say its hyped up crap Sharpy, glad you enjoyed it though(y)
 
i really enjoyed this too.. but again everything i have read about it says its [Poor language removed]!!!!


i was already told the ending was [Poor language removed], so expected that... but to be honest... it was even more of a shock than i expected lol

but still.. its one of the better films i have seen in quite some time !!! deffo reccommend !!!
 

From what I gather, the ending is what makes it a love it/hate it movie. People just can't deal with movies that have no happy ending. I think it is refreshing.

And anybody notice when they stop to look across the collapsed bridge? They see a guy holding a cam-corder filming them. The producers have hinted at a sequel from another viewpoint.
 
Its the kind of movie thats wasted on the big screen. If they were serious about making it look like its from a video camera, how come the sound is so good? Ok of course you cant have bad sound, but the constany motiona and cimema projection blur made this film pretty nautious to watch. I enjoyed it, but not like it shoulda/coulda been.

Not enough monster and a better advertising campaign than film. Where did it come from? It didnt explain anything. From the makers of 'lost', now I know why.

Would have made it a better film if they told you it came from 'MARS' on a big UFO???

An the point of not seeing the monster was to keep it phycalogical. Your mind will always make a better monster than what the move makers can.
Makes it more scary.

I thought it was a good film.
 

ridley scotts approach to the 'alien', spielberg was restricted to predominantly using the theme tune to signify the presence of the monster because of the many technical problems with the actual model.

trivia: the girl that gets eaten by the shark in the opening sequence of jaws was attached to ropes beneath the surface of the water, those screams and shouts she makes are genuine, because the ropes pulled her that hard they broke her ribs.

................blood came from her mouth and the shark appeared.....I wondered how it was done:P
