McBain

Player Valuation: £80m
"Now if I was Michael Carrick I would be quite worried about my position at Manchester United. He filled a void that needed filling last season and did a good job, but now the number one target has arrived and stolen his thunder. When Hargreaves arrived it was going to be him and Scholes, but now Anderson is here as well as Tevez. I have had a feeling his career with United may not last as long as anticipated. You could see on Saturday how pissed he was not to get a chance. It maybe like that all season unless something goes wrong with Scholes and/or Hargreaves.

Now this brings me to my next point. Berbatov. Its pretty obvious he will become a Manchester United player in years to come, you could see how good he was against Fulham at the weekend, he was immense, he can make chances from nothing, score goals from dodgy passes. So would Carrick be used as bait for bringing Berbatov to Old Trafford, its something I have been thinking and it kind of makes sense, I would be sad to see him go, but for the sake of first team action it would probably be the right thing to do.

This is just an opinion like, what are your thoughts ?"

This from the Manure Forum.

there talking about an 18m pound player (im sure it was ridiculously this much) like he was Johnny 5p.

"Coventry have denied Uniteds request for reduced ticket prices and are demanding that United charge full price..

Not only that, but they've asked for their full allocation for the game ( 11,000 ) so if they sell them all there wont be any available to one United members and they'll have to buy them through Viagogo meaning that they'll pay way over the odds.

As I say, its just rumours, but from a pretty reliable source. I may be wrong, but it appears that what I thought would happen is happening...

£30+ to see the [Poor language removed] reserves..

UTTER C#@TS.."

Sucked In!! Boo hoo United have to pay more for something!

This is actually interesting.
It shows the knock effects in winning and having so much money.

Games like this are so important to the Coventrys of the league, and even though the Manure Supporters are complaining about having to pay 38 pounds to watch a cup game, is it surely the the beast of their own creation? They choose to feild their reserves...

And faced with the mighty mighty blues, things get very interesting

"Very tough game away at Everton, I think we'll draw."

"Got Ronaldo and Saha for this game so i think we should win........but it'll be tough"

"Hope so but they're a very solid team."

"i know ............................ Arteta is dangerous"

"Right now I would take a draw !!!

Everton are no pushover and they can do some damage. Having say this maybe we do better against a 'good' team !! Hope so........"

"tOUGH TOUGH GAME.."

hehe bring it on!! Now only a couple of weeks to wait....

Simple supply and demand isn't it. Their reserve team is probably better than half the teams in the PL, as highlighted by your initial post with the likes of Carrick, Anderson, Saha and Nani on the sidelines.

Changing the subject somewhat (prompted by your avatar), what do you make of the Joey affair? Were half of your team doped up to the eyeballs? I'm not sure I'd want to be on the wrong side of Tallis that's for sure.

My team is the MIGHTY EELS.

The Joey Johns affair is fodder for a book Im guessing.

By far the drug takingest sport is AFL, but lax drug laws + people with too much time on their hands + not an obscenely premier league amount of money but better than average joe = typical footy player.

Theres no excuse for Joey. He fessed up, told everyone he had probs, and fair play to the guy. He was by far the best player in the world for so long, now its over and he got caught out.

One things for sure, we'll be helping himout and not booing him like some countries national icons.

I guess the question is though, he's admitting to taking recreational drugs but was he taking drugs to help him become the best player in the world? The testing in the sport seems incredibly shoddy to say the least and it sounds as though if a player wants to avoid being caught for anything then it's made pretty easy to do so.
