That is all.

Depends where his ego is parked. The diehard RS discard v the new fresh out of the font Evertonian could be a bridge too far for him.

Would he fit snugly with Tarkowski ? I'm not sure to be honest... think you need players who complement each other in central defence, not players who merely replicate the other. Not fussy on him to be honest.

Just seen this there

In November 2021, Coady was named Football Ally of the Year at the British LGBT Awards for his outspoken support for gay footballers. Coady said that "Equality is a massive word, and when it comes to LGBTQ stuff, I'm big on making people feel involved." Coady concluded that in his team "[criticising a player based on their sexuality] would never be the case within [our] dressing room."

He's sound actually, even if he's a red.

Look if we go after him and play 3 at the back he's apparently supposed to be very good, Wolves fans rate him and would be sad to see him go. If it meant we also didn't have to see Michael Keane again that'd be even better. Godfrey/Mina, Tarkowski and Coady with Gana and Onana in front of them is a far better backline, midfield and overall team shape that we've had for a number of years so I wouldn't complain too much, especially if it's gonna be a loan or something cheap.

I wouldn't want us spending loads on him as we don't *need* him. If we got 3 good years of first team football out of him and Tarkowski then that's good business in my book, they also both seem to be good passers of the ball and link up play well from the back so it'd certainly help getting the ball into good areas up the pitch.

Won't be the flashiest of windows but if we get in Tarkowski, Vinagre, McNeil, Gana and Coady that'll be 5 very solid players at a good level that improve us massively, 4 of which go straight into the starting 11, adding some exctining signings with Onana and the forward hopefully. Would end up with effectively Richarlison's forward position being the only area of the team that was weakened while every other weak part of the team getting much stronger, also as cliche as the saying is Patterson is effectively like a new signing as he didn't play last year, meaning from the team that got almost relegated last year we'd have replaced 5 or 6 of that starting 11 with better quality and proven players, think every fan would've taken that at the start of Summer in fairness, no matter what way you put it.

Both stroll into our starting eleven. Worryingly most in here can't see that part. Red or not he improves us. Brings other qualities our squad also lacks. He'll goto somewhere else, be boss and we'll all grumble.

It's like watching Godfrey, Holgate, and Keane trying to relegate us last season didn't happen for some people. Watching them try to clear the ball, hit each other, run into each other, mistime headers was actually elite defending in disguise.

All 3 need binning off.

Spot on. We need new solid CB. Bin off Holgate and Keane first.

It doesn't really matter he's a red. Lots of blues have played well for them, and lots of reds have played well for us. He's just not that good any more and older than I would want to add to the squad right now. If it allows us to sell Holgate or Mina then I can kind of get it, but it's not a long term, or particularly high quality piece of recruitment.

he's a solid, experienced premierleague defender, a club captain and someone who specialises in playing in a back 3 which appears to be what Lampard wants to play. If we can get him in on loan and someone's stupid enough to take one of Keane, Holgate or Mina off our hands then it's a no brainer.
This is the sort of smart business we've been crying out for and with a World Cup coming up he'd have a point to prove.
I have no idea how genuine the links are but I find shouts that he isn't good enough laughable. Have people watched our defence the last 12 months?
Keane and Holgate run into each other 2-3 times a game. Godfrey's got potential but he's a highlight reel defender at best at the moment and Mina's legs are made out of rice cakes.

I would have sold every single one of our centre halves this summer if I had the chance. At some point last season, every single one of them made a mistake that you'd be disappointed to see in the park on a saturday morning.
