Any suggestions lads? I specialise in beans on toast, garlic bread, pizza and take away orders, dont think any of these will do though.

Has to be simple enough to cook so nothing which requires more than 2/3 things at once.

Will consider take away ideas if could realistically palm it off as my own...

I tried telling her me phoning jackie mundos counts as cooking mate but she doesn't think on a normal persons wavelength.

What does she like Danny, food wise that is???????

Is she a vegan, does she like chicken (dead easy to cook), try her with roast seasoned chicken thighs, served on a bed of cous cous and roast chopped veg (new potato, mushies, peppers, onion) with a small side salad rocquet, tomato and scallion. Serve that up with some garlic bread and a yoghurt and mint dip. Then pop to the ice cream cabinet at the supermarket take your pick, normally anything with choclate wins also grab some condoms whilst you're there. Have a nice evening and don't think of me while you are at it(y) (y)

She's never complained with any food, chinese, indian... so anythin really. Sounds good stuff mont, I think I could cook abit of chicken, would have to be easier than what you just said though, cous cous? scallion?

hmm.... maybe chicken fajitas...

I'd go with something along the lines that Monty suggests except:

*try grilled breast instead of roast thigh (women tend to prefer the leaner meat, imo, and there is less chance of you undercooking or overcooking it)
*forget the garlic bread if there is any chance of practicing mouth-to-mouth

Chocolate is a winner, and if you get enough chocolate sauce you may have enough left over for other uses.

Danny: couscous is just like rice, read the instructions on the packet. Scallions are spring onions.

You sound as competent in the kitchen as i do mate.  ;)

Here's what you do, get yourself down to your local chippy, order cod/plaice and chips, take them home, take all the batter off the fish, 'drizzle' some garlic sauce over it and throw some chopped mint on as well, some cart'e d'or ice cream to follow should give you even extra points, bon-appetit.;)

OK, if she likes Indian:

1) Buy one packet of tikka powder and one of tandoori powder.

2) Buy a large pot of natural yoghurt.

3) In one bowl mix up one tbsp each of tikka powder, olive oil, yoghurt, lemon juice and garlic. In another bowl mix up tandoori powder with same ingredients apart from garlic.

4) Cut up four chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and stick half in each bowl and leave them in the fridge for a while.

5) Buy large bag of poncey mixed salad leaves (radiccio and all that stuff). Buy large ciabatta roll or small ciabiatta loaf.

6) Preferably grill, but you can also fry, all chicken pieces until done. Keep warm in oven.

7) Artfully fill half of two plates with expensive salad. Decorate with lemon slices and tomato slices, squeeze modest amount of lemon juice on salad. Add mixed chicken to other half of plates. Cut up roll/loaf and serve on a side plate.

8) Follow with icecream/chocolate sauce plan.

Danny cous cous has style, takes on any flavour and is a piece of piss to prepare. It looks likje rice and is read twice as quick, it will impress.

Take your pick if you are a breast or a thigh man, season with salt and pepper and cook, do not over or under cook chicken, it should be moist but cooked through.

Prepare your veg in a roasting tin, start by chopping your new potato's in half and adding seasoning, a sprinkle of oil and rosemary, leave open place in a moderate oven for about 20 mins, pan fry or bake/roast your chicken. Chop up the remained of the veg, peppers and onions into strips, quarter the mushies. Take a chicken stock cube and sprinkle half over the veg when you add it to the spuds already cooking in the over, sprinkle more oil and return to ven for a furter 20 mins. Both the chicken and the veg should be cooked after a total cooking time of 40/45 mins.

Scallions are simply spring onions, called them scallions and she'll be mystified as you were:lol:

Art makes a fair point about the garlic bread, the choice is yours.

Choclate is always a winner. Could I suggest, as this is a light meal, a chardonay to wash it all down with!

By the way don't wipe your nose on your wrist when you are cooking, she'll puke:lol:

Thanks for the suggestions lads, really appreciated

. I'll let you all know how disastrous it turns out!
