According to the fantastic Pendragon Cycle from Stephen Lawhead: Atlantis was an isle not far of the Brits, with cultured folk who then fled the sunken disaster to make home in Arthurian-era Wales & England. Bringing advanced ideas of civilisation, technology, arts & politics to the somewhat backwards Brits of the time.

The famous Merlin character here is a grandchild of surviving Atlanteans. He wasn't a wizard, just a whizz.

Its always made sense that it was in the Mediterranean basin somewhere.. when it was flooded after the small ice age..

Graham Hancock's series on Netflix was good I thought. Ancient Apocalypse.. some mad stuff but a lot I thought was very plausible!
