Covid impact on Everton and clubs

Its possible a team like us could benefit the most.

You know a team that would benefit from some major relaxing of FFP rules.

Providing Mr Moshiri is willing to bankroll us of course.
I am sure Moshiris employer is sharpening his pen and cheque book in glorious anticipation of FPP and STCC being relaxed
If we threw 100m at 3 clubs it could filter down and save maybe 10 clubs from going bust

Don't think it will, though there I imagine there'll be several games postponed at some point due to it.

We have to take into account that far more tests are being done as well.

And the teams operate in bubbles as much as possible. No media are back working full time at Everton, for example. Probably won't be until next year now.

The players are tested before every game, too.
Old news now but West Ham have 2 players and manager positive
If the rest of the squad are considered close contacts will they have to self isolate ?
This will get very messy

Just hope that the covid cases rise doesn't lead to another suspension of the season.

PL rules as they stand, to the best of my understanding....
- If PL team has 13 or more of their 25 tested negative for Covid - Game goes ahead
- In event of strict local lockdown; game remains in schedule but moved to a neutral venue, agreed by all teams
- Non completion of season only to be considered when all other options are exhausted

This has shown that match going fans are still important, regardless of TV and sponsorship money, and supporter groups should likely make sure to push that point strongly whenever they communicate with clubs going forward

No more treks up to Newcastle on a Tuesday night for an 8pm kick off just to suit TV companies etc

Thats what I was thinking tbh. I'm surprised the whole first team and staff aren't now isolated.

No - isolation doesnt apply to the best of my knowledge (elite sports exemption) - but presumably they will have tested negative yesterday & probably retested the next few days

It’s actually illustrated the opposite surely?
The competitions are going ahead without us, it’s the armchair fans who fund the top leagues and the media companies who dictate the future of our sport,
We are just unpaid extras , we pay for the privilege of being the backdrop.
It’s a different story for the leagues below , without fans , and little prospect of re- admittance this side of Christmas, they are going to struggle and football may look very different in 12 months time.

As I said, thankfully or sadly, however you want to look at it, cos lets face it we would all rather be there, but no fans doesn't hurt us as "much" as most.

Hopefully FPP and STCC rules are further relaxed to allow Usmanov spend more

especially next summer when our squad is going to be smaller again and a lot of wasted wages will be off the books.

If we don't offload them this summer, bolasie, sandro and besic, 3 problem players who don't get near our matchday squad will be gone, walcott's another who's started the season almost in the same boat as them.

Here’s the best case scenario..
Football as we know it collapses.
Fans reform their beloved clubs as fan owned entities.
Leagues reformed with no live coverage involved, media companies no longer dictate kick off times etc,
3.00 Saturday
Footballers no longer paid obscene wages for kicking a bag of wind around a park, fair wage for all.
Any excess monies above the cost of running clubs ploughed back into grass roots football.
No international football.
No shirt sponsors, just the shirt.
No VAR.
Terraces.
Affordable admission prices.

Works for me. We can but dream.

5 merseyside teams in my sons footy league, we are in Bolton.

The league is guna be an joke.

When bolton was under stricter rules recently, many of the teams refused to host us.
