How much am i looking at here?

Was on a dual carriageway last night, and this stone just whacked my windscreen, now there is a big crack now.

I'm only third party fire and theft insurance aswell.

The cost depends on the age and type of car mate. Oh and depends where you get it done too. £70 up.

Most insurers will pay for the repair and it won't even affect your no claims bonus, according to the TalkSport adverts anyway

I got a windscreen replaced in a saxo a few years ago and my insurance made me pay £70 towards it and I'm always fully comp. Depends on the insurer I suppose. Worth trying though.

Downside with only being on third party, but i just haven't got the money to be able to go onto fully comp, otherwise i won't be able to do things like going the football because fully comp for an 18 year old in there 2nd year of driving is a horrendous price still.

Did you check Cal? Fully comp for me was only an extra £10/20 a month, I say only... that was on top of £160 a month.

Never bothered though because even if I wrote of my car, my excess is the same valuation as it and losing no claims bonus (which will half my premium in a few months) would cost a lot more in the long run...

Cal, if you do not need to don't rush into it, just grin and bear it for now. The time to replace it will be just before the MOT so the car passes.

It's a Citreon Saxo.

I got one replaced in a VTR about 18 months ago and had to pay £70 towards it through my insurace. I think it was about £140 at Autoglass in Warrington. They were the only ones that had one at the time. You cant get one from a scrappy cos theyre bonded in.

I've had to pay out for new brakes, new clutch, new battery, 2 new tyres and i thought my head gasket had gone at one point.

I love it but it just pisses me off.

Ah, swerve that one then. At our age and with our types of cars, fully comp just isnt worth it.
