The rain, it raineth every day
Starts in a week's time so I thought it should have it's own thread. Lasts six weeks so plenty of time for injuries to make their mark. A lot of small grounds so could be some very large totals. The usual suspects are favourite with the bookies - India, England, Australia and Pakistan. I'm edging towards India, but they have a tendency to fall at the last hurdle. Australia are a bit iffy having lost 4 of their last five matches. England must be full of confidence, used to the big matches and crunch moments and are obviously a team to fear, with the proviso that the pitches are likely to be low, slow and will probably turn. Time for the class players to show their worth.

These are the fixtures :

6 weeks long, it's almost as bad as the Rugby world cup this, and I love cricket and rugby. Doesn't do the ODI game dragging is out this much any good.
I think they've changed the format again, each team plays each other, top four qualify for the semi-finals. Result - more matches, got to keep the dollars rolling in for the BCCI and the ICC.

England's warm up match against India abandoned today due to rain, without a ball being bowled. Last warm up match is on Tuesday against Bangladesh at the same venue.

Fancy South Africa to do better than expected. Klaasen may look like he robs kids of their lunch money but has probably been the most destructive batsman in short form cricket over the last year.
Maybe lacking good spin options put will pile on the runs

Who was their last good spinner ? Maybe Imran Tahir ?

I'm Irish, so I know as much about quidditch as I do cricket, but it's still a shock to me to see a cricket World Cup without the West Indies. What happened there?
