No, this isn't a transfer rumour. Rather, a very good story about a footballer whose family has been through some very rough times.

In this day and age of pampered footballers, it's a pleasure to read about a player who hasn't forgotten his roots and what his family has done for him.

I'll be rooting for him if I ever see him play.

read it earlier today and thought is was a fine piece of work as well. he scored a cracker against australia in the last world cup which almost sunk us so i rate him highly as a footballer.

In retrospect, I'm sure I've seen him play as I've seen Croatia play a few times but I guess I just didn't remember him. The name was familiar though.

I'll be looking out for him going forward.
