Jose does'nt play with a no10 so at the moment there is no place for Alli in that team. In the setup under Poch he was a central figure and it reaped rewards. Also you need to remember that from Porto up to Spurs Jose has always highlighted one high profile player and isolated/picked on them at every club he has been at. It's very much a psychological thing to show control and authority (Mourinho is a qualified sports psychologist) to the other players about who is the boss regardless of how high profile someone is as a player and Joses record shows he can back it up with results.

From an attacking perspective I think Alli does take up good positions and have good timing.. he's the type of player James would enjoy playing with and I could see him scoring for us with James supplying him. From a defensive perspective I think he would be a nightmare for us. Our midfield already struggles defensively when we have Hamez in their and I think Alli is in the same mould so we would have more holes than Swiss cheese. On loan with an option to buy I would take the chance and see how it works out.

mourinho's judgement mightn't be the best barometer in assessing footballers; De bruyne, salah and lukaku were all 'rejected' as not good enough when he was coaching them. i'm not saying ali is the answer, he's just another player who mourinho regards as a luxury player, and we all know mourinho prefers workhorses like hojberg and sissoko over the likes of ali and bale. it doesn't mean ali can't offer anything to other coaches just because mourinho doesn't fancy him.

A very good player, still only 24. I think he would be an excellent signing for the right price, perfect as the 10 behind Calvert Lewin.
When you have a midfield player, able to score a goal every 3 games for three seasons running. That's special. That is a player you build a team around.
He has had a difficult 18 months with injuries and Mourinho doesn't really play a system that suits him and has no interest in accommodating him.
If he had Allan and another holding player behind him, maybe even Doucoure, this team would carry a much greater threat.
If he is available, he is exactly the type of player Everton should target. A player who has lost their way but has shown they can play well at the highest level.

I think we need more players who can share the goal-scoring load with dom. Without dom's goals we aren't prolific from anywhere else really are we? especially from mid-field. what happens when dom is out of form? Our midfielders don't offer enough goals and a late arriving midfielder in the box might be what we need. I'm all for sorting the defence and midfield out with regards to keeping clean sheets, but we need to think about winning matches at the same time with players who will damage the opposition. I honestly think he would be great on the end of james' through balls.
He's defo more of an attacking no.10 than a playmaker; my issue is that we already seem to have been found out in a system where we play James out wide. Assuming we persist with the current system with James central instead of Sig, where does Dele go? If he plays in James's place he gets no service and if we shunt James back out wide we end up getting overrun out wide again, we don't have the ball and therefore Dele gets no service.
I get why people get excited over us taking a player who has shown flashes of brilliance, that is having a rough patch - that transfer strategy has served us very well at times in the past - but personally I think it'd be a(nother) waste of money that wouldn't actually serve to improve our squad all that much.

Dele is very talented and I think managers like Alex Ferguson, Poch and Jose also think that but in terms of his style of play I think he is suited to a supporting role alongside the striker.
His problem at Spurs is that Son (boo) is that supporting role and he is on current form one of the best in the World plus added to Bale signing also, he won't have much game time.
Jose has commented on his training laziness in the past but not all footballers are the best in training and some trainers are different to other trainers. Dele may have been better under Poch then Jose.
If we sign him and it's a HUGE if, he walks into our midfield even on his worst form.
Last season: 25 played - 8 goals - 4 Assists, that is nearly more then our entire midfield and nearly equal to the best season Rat Barkley had for us (35 games, 8 goals, 8 assists) so you can't doubt his talent.
His form has dipped in two seasons which isn't to much of a concern because he has being playing more football and Spurs have had manageral changes.
If Spurs want a 18m loan deal then it's a no brainers for us. To buy him I would be worried we are looking at north of £40m which is a bit rich for us.

I can't see Levy selling him right now. More likely to let him go on loan so he can do well and his price goes back up a bit. A loan is what it will be, just whether he would move to us or they would want him shipped out abroad.
