My nan preferred Blackburn to Liverpool ,mind you she was born there and left when she was ten and came to Liverpool were she lived for the next 85 years when she died but she defended Blackburn when I used to come back from games there and felt I was in a Dickens novel

I've not been there for donkey's years now, Roy. I've got to admit that I was not particularly impressed by it, though. Even St. Helens is less depressing.

It must be the letter "B". Bolton, Burnley, Blackburn, Bury & Birkenhead are all Bollox. Mind you Bristol is a nice place, so nice I decided to live down there for 9 years before I got divorced and came back. Leaving her down there I might ad. It was worth letting her have the house so she'd stay.

I used to know a lad from Bury when I lived in Scotland. He was a lovely bloke. Unfortunately he didn't have any teeth which was sad seeing as he was only 20 or so.

You are right about Corby, what a dump and really weird. Residents came from Glasgow for the steel factory, kids born there, speak with jock accent and hate the English even though they've never been near Scotland.
