I've been following Everton for over 30 years and am a STH in the Gwladys St - my account shows 18 away credits for this season - and I have fond memories of Anderlect, Villareal, Malaga, Lisbon but to name just a few. So, like many others on this forum I think I've earned my stripes.
I was in The Anfield Road on Wednesday with another 2500 Blues and what I saw was an absolute disgrace. Now I have seen some poor Everton teams over the years, probably too many bad games to remember, but Wednesday even two days on will live with me for a long time. Because even when we were poor there was a belief, a passion and a determination to have a go. Don't tell me that this is the best squad we've ever had - I won't call out individual players - they know who they are - but Wednesday was a complete embarrassment for the lack of fight. On that night those players let themselves, the club and more importantly the fans down in a way it'll be hard to recover. Currently, this team do not deserve the fans that they have got.
So it brings me to my point. Martinez, your time has come. For many of us it was weeks or even months ago. The players clearly have lost faith and do not want you, the media for war they are worth now say you are not good enough, the fans, the lifeblood of our great club do not want you either. Do not wait for the fledgling board to make a decision they hoped not to make so early in their tenure. I think you are an honourable man, even likeable in past times, but please do the right thing now and resign. Resign today.
We have to get ourselves up for another big game tomorrow. Unfortunately you are not up to this task. I do not care whether it is Sheedy, Ferguson or Unsworth but we need someone else to take the helm, to give us our pride back and put in a shift that is worthy of Everton Football Club. This is I'm afraid beyond you now, There is no turning back now, you are gone to me, so please do the right thing and resign today so that we can have our club back and go again.
