Do we have the worst attack in the league?

Gray Gordon and McNeil without question the worst front 3 in the league.

All 3 are decent players in their own right, but all together as a 3 is horrible.

No goals, assists and no end product.

Any good team with a clue has 1 of these 3 starting.

We do but it doesn’t need a complete overhaul to fix it. DCL will always end up getting goals but importantly opens up enough space and chances for others too so it helps to spread the goals around. Get an adequate replacement or understudy for him and we’d look so much better, add another winger with more about him than just pace and we’d be even better again.

We’re never gonna have a front 3 that’ll score 10-15 each but I think a 20-25 between them and other players on the pitch chipping in 3 and 4 in a season would be more than good enough for us. Think if we had anyone at the club that could actually take a set piece we’d get about 85 goals a season with Coady, Tarkowski and Onana in the team now.

It's more than just the attack. We simply can't string passes together at all. We're the worst team at progressing the ball in the Prem by far.

It's more than just adding goal scorers. We need people that can create space and pick a pass. It's not that Gordon or Gray or McNeil are bad...it's that none of them can create for each other. And no one in midfield is that creative. Feels like the first two weeks 90% of the attacks ended with a bad pass or dribbling into traffic and losing it. So it's not just the end product that's lacking...we can't even get to the shot...the ball is going the other way before we even get the ball into a position to shoot.

We pose no threat unless the whole team takes risks to attack. When games are still in the balance at 0-0, defenders must love kicking lumps out our lightweights. Our attacking play is weak, unimaginative, breaks down too easily and doesn’t make the opposition manager question his setup at all.

DCL might have been a better player if we hadn’t tried to make him a PL number 9 two years before he was ready. A full year with a strong Championship side would have been great for him.

Even if/when he gets fully match fit before Xmas, he wouldn’t be a starter for for Brentford (not just because of todays result - I’d take a streetwise athlete like Toney every time. Same for Mitrovic who is totally different but hugely effective). DCL could just be heading for a Welbeck career, but apparently is going to get us mid table then be sold for £80mil. No chance.

Hope we don’t go for someone happy to be a backup striker. We need to find a proper goal scoring nuisance, regardless of how sexy or exotic they are.

Yes. We need a new striker a month ago. If we don’t get a half decent one soon, a struggle seems inevitable. The lack of goals from our players is shockingly bad

Obviously financial fair play may limit some options but the cost of relegation is massive. They need a striker that can start and pair with DCL, not just a placeholder. Spend the money now or regret it later.
