Don't judge me, i adore my daughter, we spend every living minute doing productive stuff, if we're not doing jigsaws together, we're painting her face ( you get the idea )

She LOVES Disney films. Do you think she is too young for one in her room, me and my missus are drawn on it, we have one in our room, and in the living room. We're not the type to leave her alone with a pastie to watch some rubbish on telly, hense the hesitation.

I think it's a no, but i wondered what other people thought.

I have one in my little'uns room. She's 3 1/2. Same as you she loves Disney films. just regulate how much Tv she watches. I think it's ok mate.

My problem now a days isnt the Tv it getting her off my Laptop.

Just connect it to a DVD player. That way you have control over what the 3 year old watches in her room.

Yeah, it won't be connected to a tv signal, it has a integrated dvd player - this is the control we have, forgot to include it!

Didn't want to appear like an overpowering dad...

That's a tough one. I'm leaning towards no, i'm not a dad, but I was a child a lot sooner ago than most of you.

If you have the TV downstairs, I think it'll be fine to leave it. She can watch there, if you're going to be sitting with her anyway.

My little un has had one in his room since he was 3 - a TV Video combi (he throws dvds round like frisbee's and vids are about 10p each these days) and if he wakes in the night he'll turn it on for background noise to help him nod back off! I won't connect it to an aerial so I know he can't put something on that she shouldn't be watching by mistake!

Eldest who is 11 has one, but the 2 lads (3 & 8) don't, tbh she hardly ever watches it as it doesn't have the cable channels that she wants to watch (freeview only), so it's usually a DVD or me watching something that they all don't want to.
Have blocked a load of the kids channels cos of the attitudes that they were starting to get, but it's just all Club Penguin at the moment again tbh, and having to negotiate the Island of Sodor that our living room has become.

Same, Im 16 and still dont have a tv in my room and I get on just fine. I have a friend who has everything you could possibly imagine in his room and he literaly only goes out of his room to go to the bathroom or to eat something.

theres no rule book for being a mum or dad. for me tho - my two are 14 and 16 and they dont have tellys in their rooms but they have music stuff everywhere, ipods etc. they sing and play guitar and listen to their sounds in their rooms- the thing is -tv is mainly dross and the less crap watched by kids the better, saying that tho- the throw away consumer society is everywhere so giving your kids time, attention and encouragement will over ride the bullshit they encounter everyday

Here in the states we have this channel called Nick Jr, it used to be called Noggen.. I recommend this channel to all parents, it is brain food for kids.. All the shows are educational.. My daughter learned to count to 10 in Spanish by the time she was 2 so, I say YES, it's ok to put a t.v. in the room as long as you know what is being watched.

Choons , Dawg ,...

Depends.

Will she be watching Everton?

Just kidding. The Nick Jr. channel is very good as Nordecke said so if you have it, use it. If not, Disney or Barney DVD's should be fine.
