World Cup might save us, we will almost definitely be bottom by the time the window opens, but nowhere near as bad as if we had the normal number of games between now and then.

Whether we sack Lampard depends how much money there is for January. If there's nothing and whoever is expected to grind out results with this squad, he should go now and get a relegation specialist in. If there's a realistic chance of signing creative players then maybe not

The poll shows most recognise the simple solution of managerial change just hasn't worked and with a squad not much different to previous incarnations the only real option is to sit it out and pray.

But the tipping point is peeking over the horizon.

I have just put this in the Coady thread about him coming out yesterday about the players not being good enough.

I think its relevant to this post becsuse as i mention at the bottom, theres still far too many bad apples in this squad who we need to get rid of. I said-

He's right to come out though, he's basically witnessing players who literally either can't be arsed or not good enough and he done everything but name them yesterday.

There's still some proper bad apples inside this club and they need to be removed asap.

Plus Coleman won't come out and do it as he'd only be repeating what he's said time and time again and the players have never responded to him as a captain.

We have 6 weeks now to find new clubs for the likes of Keane, Holgate, Mina, Davies, Doucoure, Rondon for starters.

Given half a chance I'd be moving Mcneil on in a heartbeat, same with Gray and consider offers for Gordon.

There's still far too many players who nearly took us down last season just strolling around like Billy Big bollocks at this club and they need to be punted and sharpish.

I`d go further and say we need to get rid of....

Begovic* Contract extension signed under FL
Lonergan
Jakupovic* Signed under FL
Holgate
Keane
Mina
Coleman
Doucoure
Davies
McNeil *Signed by FL
Gordon
Gray
Maupay* Signed by FL
Rondon
Townsend

Thats 15 of our 27 man squad

I`d also argue if DCL cant improve his fitness we should be offloading him too...

What does that leave?

Pickford
Patterson
Tarkowski
Godfrey
Coady (Only on loan, why would he want to come here permanently)
Mykolenko
Vinagre (On Loan)
Onana
Iwobi
Gueye
Garner
DCL

For me....

Gallardo, absolute no.1 choice and leaves his job in December, wouldnt cost alot to buy that contract out.
Tuechel (We were linked with previously, long shot but ask the question).
Roberto Mancini, could we tempt him back to club football with a new project going in to a new stadium?
Marcelo Bielsa, would be good to see the team fighting as that old Leeds side did, I think our fans would be right behind that.
Jorge Sampaoli
Marco Rose
Paulo Fonseca
Thomas Frank
Patrick Vieira
Abel Ferreira
Stefano Pioli

If they fail go and get David Moyes, I dont remember a time when a David Moyes side was ever found being out worked by an opponent and took an average West Ham side in to Europe. I remember alot of fans moaning about his style of play but it was far far superior to what we are seeing now......

Absolutely should have got Galtier when we had the chance!
Gallardo - would be interesting no idea what the future holds for him and will be interesting to see.
Tuchel - is having time away from football and he rejected Villa who have a better base to work from than us so I don't see that.
Mancini - is quite a demanding character but a winner and he would certainly knock a few heads together in the dressing room
Bielsa - I honestly don't think we have the players to play the Bielsa way, Leeds have more attack minded players than we do. People have complained Lampard has no plan B well Bielsa defo doesn't.
Sampaoli - Interesting shout that
Rose - A manager who I have mentioned myself in the past and like a lot.
Fonseca - We have been here before and he does have a decent record (think 50%+ win rate) but there is just something about him that says no for me.
Frank - He is part of an established setup there that has been in place for a few years and their recruitment is A grade compared to ours which is like XYZ grade.
Viera - No not for me
Ferreira - Big jump from the Brazilian league to the PL
Pioli - Good manager him, would he drop Milan to come here though?
Moyes - No not for me, he has spent a fortune at West Ham and they look dreadful and he has no answers to any it. Yes hammers fans were happy at getting into Europe but none are happy with the way the team plays/ is setup. He also still has an appalling record against all the 'top' clubs it's like he respects them too much and just folds over every time.
I honestly don't mind some of those names mate, some decent shouts there, I like Bo Svensson the current Mainz manager, check him out if you have not heard of him. Has some familiarity of the RB system so it would work with Thelwell.

I am so disappointed to be saying this but I do think he needs to go.

The honeymoon period is well over and unfortunately we are every bit as bad now as we were under Benitez...maybe even worse when you consider that FL was allowed to sign players where Benitez was not.
We just seem so absolutely clueless at the moment.
He was only able to sign players because he had to sell his best player first to help last years accounts!!

I voted no because I want it to work with Frank and also sympathise with the mess he inherited. Yes he has signed players but only after he had to sell our best player first and that was also out of his hands.
In my opinion he does need time and patience and by sacking yet another manager this cycle of doom continues! He also has shown signs of ruthlessness which we need in order to move the rubbish on.
That said, if it doesn’t improve soon the button will need to be pressed at some point. (Which is why this week’s performances and results have come at the worst time as it would be too tempting to do it now with the break in season)
I have a feeling that if he is sacked it would be mainly down to relying on DCL being fit and the signings of maupay and McNeil not working out.
We live in hope….

He's never shown us any sort of consistent managerial ability. People are wanting to keep him based on emotion only
Maybe you’re right. But we are crying out for a manager that made us feel better that we all liked (mostly) after the last however many…
He also a football man and a legend of a player so you’d think and hope he’s got all the ingredients.
I know that doesn’t always pan out but I jut don’t want the button to be pressed yet. Too early for me still.

He’s not a very good manager at this level and I can’t see him turning things around. Another dreadful appointment from the board.
Not sure about this last line, he came in simply to keep us up, which he did, but then he deserved to stay, now he deserves to be sacked.

75% on this forum agree with you but the less than 25% are very noisy. He is in danger but see what he does in January then maybe the axe may swing and maybe it won't. January is his last chance to sort it out.

I'm shocked so many want lampard to stay. I personally think he's the worst manager we have had since Mike walker. He basically put us in a relegation battle last season and then somehow turned that into a positive in his favour as people actually believed he did a good job by scraping us into safety.

Then he put us into another relegation battle this season and just got spanked by 3 goals twice in a week to the weakest team in the league run by a caretaker manager who is about to leave. If he stays Everton go down, simple as that.

There won't be any miraculous goodison games this season like there were last when the crowd pulled us through. We need a manager who can stop that being required in the first place.

Leaking seven to Bournemouth was not through your lack of threat on goal.
yes it is, if we have no threat, opposition teams can press on, like playing with an extra man as they don't need as many defenders playing deep as we have no threat. Football is a joined up game you know

I am in the 25% that want him gone,
But I am now going to keep out of it.
No use us lot going on at each other.
Personally I think he his out of his depth.
But the fans getting split is the last thing we need right now.
Those backing him, I hope your right, we will find out soon enough..
