My question is this: how did so many people allow themselves to be persuaded this lad has what it takes - fans and club employees alike?

He's like one of those X-Factor winners: hyped up beyond belief but completely insubstantial and destined to wither in the real world. A simulacrum that the modern entertainment industry throws up on a consistent basis. But FFS, it took three whole seasons before most people finally got the message the lad was a very well paid imposter. For fans, that's almst forgiveable. For coaches and managers it is unforgivable.

People are talking about a Championship player...I dont see it. He'd struggle there. Certainly at a playoff Championship outfit.

There's been a persistence with this lad beyond all reason, and I'd like to know how three managers and two DoF allowed this to continue for so long. As said yesterday: an inquiry is in order.

He's scoring, but he's not a striker with much flexibility. We couldn't use him as a lone front man, for instance. His movement is poor and he requires another player to drag defenders out of position for him.

It limits our options.

You’re having an absolute nightmare and for everyone to see, which is great to see. The highest league scorer in the premier league this calendar year was classed as a “Loser” by you, you monumental tithead. Imagine putting yourself in a position wheyou feel you can judge a 22 year old premier league striker, performing really well for, at times, an underperforming team as a loser.

He’s been performing really well for 10 weeks now, it’s be interesting to see your content in this thread in that period, pretty certain the better he’s got, the angrier you have.

I can see Abraham getting 20 goals this season, what is depressing is Abarahams has already scored more goals this season than DCL will in 30+ games this season.
