Personally, I take no Umbrage with a fellow Evertonian expressing their/they/them/he/she etc etc opinion after all that is the purpose of a Forum!

a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.
"we hope these pages act as a forum for debate"

Coming back to @deipnosophist the point made and the salient one is the off pitch distraction is having an affect, as well as injuries, on Everton FC, regardless of where you sit on DCL freedom of choice or any other Players off field antics, the reason we are here is Everton and any detriment to that institution whomsoever commits the act is what I believe was being singled out?

It is rather obvious from what we see of DCL extrovert personality and "modelling career" his focus has been elsewhere.

How does one explain a goal-laden year last season when he was also doing all the same off-the-field stuff he is doing now?

I would hardly call 16 goals, goal laden, comparatively to other forwards for many a year, then yes 16 is "Quite" the haul.

He may have been doing "other" stuff off field last season but it has not been as high profile as this season and I do not begrudge him other avenues but he is rewarded handsomely to perform for Everton, that is my one and only concern. I give 2 of nothing until it affects Everton.

His Heart does not appear to be with Everton.

Others of course are as guilty of being distracted by external influence within the club so its not all on him.

Erm, he was doing adverts, interviews, dressing in a way that riles up impotent older man as well last season all the same.

I cannot disagree with these points, if anyone feels threatened by his off pitch antics or even emasculated, then that is on them.

Personally its just about the Football, couldnt not care less about his fashion sense, sexual proclivities or whatever its just about the Footy for me.

Of course I like to defend the right to express opinion, too many want to denigrate others for just such expressions.

last season is an irrelevance now though. It could well be this season that shapes our future as a club.

I would also express that I want him to succeed for US, so all jocularity aside that is the main focus.

Hes a good player that has improved every year with us until this year where he has really struggled with injuries. Find it so bizarre that our fans turn on players that go out of form. Hes been injured and even when he came back recently he was injured again.

He scored 3 goals in his first three games until he was injured, we need him firing again and fans on his back wont exactly help that.

A lot of supporters were just looking for an excuse sadly

He bent some noses out of place by turning out good when so many wrote him off

They've been salivating at the prospect of his form dipping so they can stick the boot in

Proper bizarre if you ask me

I for one wouldn't be at all surprised if he is attracted to the bright lights of London and he is off down the walkway to Tottenham when Kane settles in at Maine road
