Dominic Calvert Lewin told to sign for West Ham, yes we have fallen that far.
They want him according to some stuff I have seen down here, Arsenal are more interested in some kid at Napoli and if it fails then DCL is their 2nd choice.

I’d drive him to Leyton Orient myself for a free. Doesn’t play the shirt too interested in wearing namby pamby clothes. Get rid and share the goals around.
Absolute wham. Remember when we sold lukaku and spent the money on sharing the goals around. It’s been down hill since then.

All depends on if the clubs learnt its lesson.

Leicester have gotten to where they are by buying low (Mahrez, Kante, Maguire) and selling high and reinvesting in more players of still good quality.

With our FFP position selling a player like DCL who we signed for £1.5 million for say £65-70 million would give Lampard the opportunity to bring in 3-4 good level players.

Had we sold Lukaku but brought in someone like Giroud to replace him on top of another 3-4 good players we wouldn't be in the mess we are now.

Hopefully the new DOF knows his onions.

I would be cashing in on both DCL and Mina this summer (try ofload Gbamin and Iwobi also) and bring in 4-5 good players with maybe 1-2 loans to pad the squad out.

I think Richarlison will go this summer and if we have not improved dramatically then DCL could go next summer but unlikely both will go in the next window. West Ham could not afford him even if they wanted him.

I may be a minority of one here, but I can't for the life of me understand all the shouts to sell him.

He's only just turned 25, he's got 43 PL goals, yes he's going through a spell now where he's really struggling, but that happens to every striker from time to time. He'll be back, banging in the goals again.

Yes the club is in a dire financial situation. If we're forced to sell him, so be it. But that's not what I, as a fan, want to see happen. Why ? Because it's only going to weaken us.

Strikers cost a lot of money for a reason. They can be the difference between a good team and a very good team. The last time that we really went for broke on a top striker was when we bought Tony Cottee. Since then, we've made compromises, we muddled through, and we paid the price. We managed to find one world class striker in Lukaku; Rooney shone briefly before being lured away by United; those are the only times though in nearly 30 years that we've had a striker who's been the envy of the clubs above us - until DCL started scoring for fun in 2020.

If and when we sell DCL who's going to replace him ? Either it will be an overpaid cast-off from a top club (think Louis Saha), or we'll pluck a player from an unfashionable European league (think Tomasz Radzinski) or even the Championship (think Andy Johnson) or one who's just had one good season (think James Beattie). And we'll do well if we avoid paying over the odds even to take a punt on someone, because there's always such a demand for strikers.

And unless you want to keep Rondon then we may need to be in the market for a second striker as well.

So be careful with those shouts to sell, you may get exactly what you wished for, and don't say that I didn't warn you.

Yakubu and Lukaku ? Ok they werent at the elite level at the time but top quality nontheless.

These days though it seems like top Centre forwards arent as common as they used to be.

DCL 3 years...Richarlison 2 years.

Unless Richarlison extends then he has to be sold...

DCL more likely next year as @blueblue says...although if a big fee was offered then i think he'd be off.

The commentators are talking about a cut price sale for DCL, that won't happen even if we are relegated. If anybody wants to sign him to they have to spend big.

This summer I think Richarlison, Mina will definitly be sold.
I think that Allan, Gomes and Holgate or Keane could be sold depending on interest and fees involved. Both Holgate and Keane won't be sold as we would simply be too short on numbers.

We will be losing Tosun, Lonergan, Delph, Sigurdsson and Kenny for free although Kenny may well sign an extension.

That would leave us with an outfield squad of
Coleman, Patterson, Keane, Branthwaite,Godfrey, Mykolenko, Davies, Doucoure, Onyango, Gordon, Gray, Iwobi, Townsend(but not until after Christmas),DCL, Rondon, Kenny?

We will see a couple of the best under 23 players promoted but we still will need ,
cover at left back
A centre half
At least one central midfielder
Another striker/wide player .

Good times, I remember so many calling Lukaku lazy and "all he does is score goals." Seems so many wanted another James Vaughan type player, now we've got strikers who don't score or run around like a headless chicken.

Rooney, Tosun, Sigurdsson, Walcott and DCL did indeed combine to score one goal more than Lukaku got the season before.

Great success.
