Yeah absolutely, I don’t disagree with any of that. At this stage it just fits more into the “nice to have” category while there are multiple essential positions to fill (CB, CM, etc).

I think the key this summer might lie in the smaller bits of business we don’t expect to do. If we can get anything at all for the likes of Gomes, Mina, Rondon etc. I hold out precisely zero hope of doing so, but if we DO blag a few quid out of someone then it might be the loan fee for a ST to challenge Dom or even a cheap little obscure number.

Been linkedw ith that Scmacca or something havent we from Sassuolo. Know little about him but looks tall and quick.

Saw the above and this below but what do the figures represent? Do they include every season for each player or?

Bit lost...

He has a worse PL strike rate (0.27) than the likes of Ings and Wilson (both around 0.36), though he's still quite young.

As a keen procrastinator, I'm currently having an interesting time looking at these stats on the PL site.

Yakubu and Viduka have an identical rate (0.38), as do Lukaku and Hasselbaink (0.44). Robbie Keane's is the same as Ings and Wilson's (also Gabriel Jesus), but better than Defoe's (0.33).

Henry's (0.68) is better than any of Aguero (0.67) Kane (0.65), Suarez/van Nistelrooy (0.63), Shearer (0.59), Owen (0.46), Ronaldo/Cole (0.45), Fowler (0.43), Rooney/Ferdinand (0.42) Drogba (0.41) or Torres (0.4).
It's just their strike rates in the league, eg Henry scored a goal every 0.68 matches.

For me, ideally, I would sell Dominic and keep Richarlison, I don't believe, however, that will happen. DCL is off the back of having a very ordinary, injury ravaged season and, as a powerful, quick player, the type of injury he has been battling is worrying. If we sold DCL this summer it would not be for anything like the sum we could have got last summer. It comes down to deciding whether to keep our nerve and hold on to him for one more year, in the hope that his injuries are behind him, or, sell him for a lower fee this month and avoid the risk of him succumbing to injury again and seeing his value plummet.

Richarlison is a different case, he is very saleable at the moment, our problem here is, if we can't persuade him to extend his contract, we run the risk of him pushing for a move next summer, when he will be in the last year of his contract. On the other hand, if we can get him to extend and he has a good world cup, he would be worth massive money next summer.

Of course, all this may well be moot, the players hold all the cards these days and if DCL or Richarlison decide that they want to go this summer, they will go.

You cannot be serious.
Do you know how much it would cost to replace him.
Just because some Evertonians don't appreciate what he brings to a team doesn't mean that others don't.
I appreciate goals and effort. If you think 45 goals in 6 years and playing like a zombie for most of this season just gone needs appreciation then you hand it to him.

Mitrovic would be a 500% improvement on that lad....someone I advocated we got in a couple of seasons back, btw.

We can do much much better than Calvert-Lewin.

No wonder we're 'kin hopeless with free passes handed out to bang-average-to-poor players like Calvert-Lewin.

DCL: 45 goals in the PL
Mitrovic: 24 goals in the PL

Not sure that's a 500% improvement but you did maths with an abacus back in the day didn't you.

Yeah, I'm sure most here would prefer to have that wet blanket over Mitrovic now.

…that’s why we employ a DoF and Manager. My concern is his injury, I’d not entertain selling him if he was robust but if we sell him then there are people who are paid lots of money to find a player who fits how Lampard wants to play.

Once your thigh goes, your buggered.
