Anyone else besides me play this when they were younger? Absolutely loved the game and then when video games came out, spawned a whole new creation of fantasy role playing games.

Back in the 80's, I used to play Wizzardry and Ultima on the old Apple IIE.

Ah memories.

Never played D&D the role-playing game. Wathced the D&D cartoon as a kid, played some rpg computer games, but never ever role-played.

I do appreciate Gary Gygax's guest appearance on Futurama though .

These days, I see plenty of AD&D players come through our school halls, and almost 100% of them have never touched a girl (mom, sister, grandma not included)

I think it's safe to say though that the genre of RPG's (primarily on computer now) were spawned by D&D.

The role playing game on paper was a lot of fun.

it appears there was a connection. i was too young for the board game, but the cartoon was on saturday morning kids tv.

No doubt. Just like the original Star Trek has spawned tons of awesome Sci-Fi. Doesn't stop Star Trek from being [Poor language removed] though, does it

If you're talking about all of the Star Trek spinoffs, you are correct.
