Yes and back to my point he'll never be a consistent threat doing that because he's too slowOur full backs donāt/wonāt/canāt overlap on the left though so thatās probably why heās tasked McNeil with getting to the byline and lobbing crosses in.
Soā¦.not because heās slow. Youāre just making it up as you go along, arenāt you.Pienaar could combine because his strong foot was inside. McNeil could do this potentially as well... on the right.
I'm not man. He's too slow to play like a left footed Stanley Matthews. I said he's too slow to play on the left for a reason. Nothing has changed from my original post other than you throwing out an example of a different player that isn't all that comparable.Soā¦.not because heās slow. What about Arteta when he played on the right or Osman? Both right footed, both slow, both able to link up with players making runs around and ahead of them.
I said this about Digne. If you donāt have rapid pace you need a good partner to link up. Shame neither had/have that as they are game changersI wish we had two McNeils. He is a greatly improved player and opponents are double marking him as a result.
Heās not playing as a winger though, itās not like heās an inside forward in a 433 or 4231. Weāre playing 451 and the wide men are midfielders not wingers or forwards - theyāve got to a more balanced job.The I'm not man. He's too slow to play like a left footed Stanley Matthews. Osman didn't consistently produce on the right so that's pretty much exactly what I'm talking about. I'd really prefer that we didn't act like being Leon Osman as a winger is fine.
I said he can't consistently produce on the left and he can't consistent produce on the left. I'm putting it down to his lack of pace but please choose he can't cross, he's not good at finding space or the system isn't suited to it if any of those suit you better. They're all factors.Heās not playing as a winger though, itās not like heās an inside forward in a 433 or 4231. What youāre saying is that you canāt play as a wide midfielder if youāre slow. You must see how ridiculous that is, Artera was good for us at right mid in a 451, if you donāt like Osman. David Beckham was slow as f.ck and played effectively as a right midfielder. Jason Sancho isnāt quick and was fantastic out wide for Dortmund - there are loads of examples.
The bottom line is, if youāre slow you need movement off the ball and players to link with. In our team there is no movement around or ahead of our wide players thatās whatās a) making them much easier to defend against and b) why theyāre not beating players at will. Better support from fullback and movement from forwards central midfielders that would come.
Mate?Apart from the fact his crossing and deadball delivery / shooting aren't the same, the rest of his game is very similar to David Beckham.
He was a hard working right midfielder with little pace, but an amazing crosser / long passer and dead ball specialist..
Dwight's workrate is the same IMO
Mate?
You'll agree with him once you see McNeil's underpants ad.Mate?
