Blueblooded
Player Valuation: £2.5m
Hi all, have posted on GOT a few times but have never done the formal introduction thingy. I'm a West Country lass of Irish descent who has been a Blue since 1983. My immediate family doesn't watch much sport (apart from my Dad + cricket), so my passion for watching all sorts of sports as a youngster was seen as a bit of an aberration. I did used to watch MOTD occasionally in the 70's with Dad and thought L/pool were great ambassadors for English football. Then I discovered the Everton team of 83/84/85 and realised what PURE footballing joy was all about. ![Big Grin :D :D](/forum/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/biggrin.gif)
1984-86 provided some of the best and worst sporting memories of my life. Friends from Uni remember me shutting myself away on match days and I remember them being wary of my contrasting moods depending on our results. Heysel was such a sickening memory for me in so many ways - turned me completely off L/poolFC and partially off football.
Tbh I could never class myself as a die-hard fan by virtue of the fact that I've lost track of players/performances over the years and because I live some distance away. However I have been to Goodison and have seen us play at a few other venues incl. the old Wembley. I'm hoping to make a long-overdue return to Goodison in 2013 and to finally showing my support for one of our greatest-ever (albeit non-trophy-winning) managers.
There used to be quite a few Blues in my workplace but in recent years they've moved on/out and I find myself in the company of far too many Kopite Gobsh!tes lately. Happy to banter with the ManU/Spuds/Arse fans but the 'Kopites are King' Kultists seem to have less perspective than a one-eyed fish eating its own tail.![Dodgy :dodgy: :dodgy:](/forum/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/dodgy.gif)
Bottom line, I wouldn't want to support any other team. Everton though thick (and mostly) thin times for me! A proper football club run the proper way for people who love football as it's meant it be played. COYB!![Wink (y) (y)](/forum/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
