Well. This morning I was bidding on three signed Everton photos. With seconds to go I was the only bidder on all three of them. However, in the last second of ALL THREE of the auctions, there was a new bidder. It was the same bidder each time, and all three bids were just below my high bid, so pushed my winning bid right up to my maximum price. The bidder was a different sports memorabelia dealer. It was unbelievable, each time the auctions got down to 1 second remaining, in came another bid and up went the winning price.
Now I know about auction 'sniping', but surely if they'd actually wanted the photos they would have put higher bids on to ensure they won them. I'm just thinking whether or not it's too much of a coincidence that the bids were all just below my high bid. But surely there's no way they could have known my bids, is there?!
