1776Oh "howdy doody"
I think SoS got this out of it: no substantial concessions from FSG, but they did scoop up the memberships of a number of other LFC fan groups. That is the nature of organisations: they want power and influence. They seek takeovers. They came out of the Euro Super League fiasco strengthened. They'll sell minor concessions as major victories.I put something on this yesterday mate as soon as it was announced. They've basically conceded on all of their key demands. Not only are they not getting 2 board members, it doesn't look like they are getting 1. They have "won" the concession that somebody can attend board meetings and give their advice to the Liverpool board. We can all guess how much credence that will be given.
The Liverpool supporters board thing is bizarre. It reminds me of the Duma in Tsarist Russia, where people met but weilded absolutely no power. Lenin and the Bolsheviks used to boycott it as it was utterly pointless (and just went through the Soviets instead).
It will just be a talking shop. FSG will also use the fan rep to try and sell the next sell out as well. I've seen this with trade union bureacrats before, they get a cushy little number and are then used to discipline the workers to accepting the management demands.
What I do find interesting is the demand that has been "won" is that FSG have given them the right to represent the fans and that to be enshrined as and when they leave. It's interesting that they have been willing to concede pretty much anything tangible accept for the right to keep their position as unelected representatives of the fans. That gives you an idea of where their priorities are.
I actually think you will see quite a big rank and file split soon though. Loads of their fans are responding to the news (aside from congratulating them on supposed victories that they haven't won) by essentially stating SOS can force FSG to heavily back Klopp now and sign Mbappe. In the eyes of the out of town loser who's attached themselves to LFC, thats all they want now. They're really not interested in "fan democracy" (and why would they be, as all fan democracy means in this instance is a group of unelected bureacrats get to build their own position more) but merely about spending. SOS will have no interest in pushing that, and even if they did FSG are not going to take them in any way seriously.
Do you know much about that Jay Mckenna fella who seems to bounce around as a mouthpiece for the group? The guy who works for the TUC allegedly building the young workers movement over a number of years, when young people joining unions continues to stagnate. I'd love to know what value he has added in his role.
We used to shout Hee Haw at him, just saying like.Tony Adams was some centre half.
Young, English and loved a tackle.
Remind you of anyone ?
Godfrey for the armband..
We do it all the time fella, i have just come off the phone to James Dyson and told him he needs to sort out his Airwrap Styler as every time I use it I burn me head.Im american so im not too sure how it works in England, but do you "Lot" realize how insane it is to go to the owner of a company and ask to be on the board because you dont agree with how they run their company?
Jay McKenna was involved at the start of the Fans for Foodbanks scheme (I think that’s the right name)he was on the panel at The Blackie at The World Transformed/Momentum event 2016, so this is a long way of saying I’d give him some credit for that.I put something on this yesterday mate as soon as it was announced. That's cool, we've got one or two from that fair state on here. You seem to have a good grasp of English footy vernacular though.I live in Virginia 20 minutes away from washington dc, however i was born in Uruguay.
Well ive always been a huge premier league fan and Everton just felt right.. My first memory of Everton was the first game of the season against blackburn in 2008. Always been a bit of a football romantic and did some research on everton and as many was shocked they were based in Liverpool. I didnt actually become a true supporter until two years ago though. I felt like my life was lacking emotion so i got super invested in the blues. That's cool, we've got one or two from that fair state on here.
