ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

That beaut Jonathan Liew in the Guardian:

"Liverpool acquitted themselves respectably enough here. There would be no comeback, but there would be no collapse either. And when the moment comes to debrief this tie, they will probably reflect that it was won and lost in that pivotal passage at Anfield when they let in five goals. This is a sport of such fine margins, and ultimately those five goals in 46 minutes really are going to cost you at this level."

They got stuffed 6-2 on aggregate. Beaten in both games. 'Fine 'kin margins'.

That's the type of coverage that Franco era Real Madrid used to get. The Establishment Club here gets it too.
Fine margins = Five goals.

If that's the definition, all of our last 200 managers from the last few seasons have a right to be aggrieved at being sacked over such fine margins.

They are no longer interested in football again after last night, 'can't be ars*d anymore with this season'.

They need a complete midfield rebuild with quality Bellingham and Mount have been mentioned, that's £200 million plus there alone, before they add two others say for another £100 million minimum. If they think FSG are going to break their lfc business model and fund £300 million plus, they've got another thing coming. A possible saviour for them is a middle eastern state buyout but as the knives are out for Newcastle's Saudi owners (a fuss generated predominately by the RS dominated media ironically) that may not be forthcoming. Another possibility is FSG selling bits and bobs to US venture capitalists and using that to invest in players. The recent banking collapses in the US may well have put paid to that avenue. It'll be interesting to see what happens here on in, and particularly if they don't get CL cash cow.
