Look... I can't... Sterling is better than Barkley at the moment. By a decent margin too. If Everton were given the option of taking one Liverpool player tomorrow, there is not a man on this forum who wouldn't have Sterling and it's okay to admit it, this isn't RAWK. I am swerving this thread until it gets back on track.

Well said, refreshing to read that as well mate. Deserves rep this post.

And yes, let's get back to laughing at those twonks - just because Sterling is a good player doesn't hide the fact that their fanbase is the most laughed at in the history of the game!

This bloke looks a bit rough, as if he's been on the ale for days.

The sports psychiatrist Steve Peters is to speak to Roy Hodgson’s England squad at their base at St George’s Park on Friday as the process aimed at recovering confidence after the summer’s disappointments at the World Cup is resumed.

Peters, who has worked extensively with Liverpool over recent years, has accepted an invitation to continue his role in the England set-up, having been part of the backroom staff for the tournament in Brazil. He spoke to a number of players, including the new captain Wayne Rooney, while in Rio de Janeiro, after the squad were granted an open invitation to consult him over the course of the finals.

Peters is due at the national team’s training centre in Burton-upon-Trent on Friday and plans to speak to members of Hodgson’s squad either collectively, or with players on an individual basis, over the next few days. His objective will be to help the group move on from the summer travails in Brazil.

The Football Association do not expect him to travel to Switzerland for Monday’s opening Euro 2016 qualifier in Basel.

He has impeccable credentials by helping the most popular national institute, LFC, win the 'top at Christmas league'. Now who was it that said, 'If you are first you are first. If you are second you are nothing'.

Wont be long before they premiere the musical about him at The Royal Court seeing as how they churn them out on demand...."The Shrink Rap...Crazy For You"

well yeah obviously id take him for free from liverpool, what kind of point is that ? a free good player from your bitter rivals... who the hell is gonna say no to that !

as for him being better than barkley by a decent margin, i just can't see it... not in a million years is he better by a decent margin.

he's played well in one and a half games out of 6 since the end of last season and its during these 6 games where the hype train has gone into overdrive.

very strange

i can genuinely say that if barkley and sterling played for some random club/clubs with no affiliation to either everton or liverpool and we had the choice of one or the other id go with barkley all day long.

Mate, I'm not saying Barkley's the better player, just that he has areas he's better at than Sterling and vice versa.
I wouldn't want him personally though, simply because he won't be able to cope without the support structure of a family club of outstanding morals like the one he's currently at, with a manager that makes decent players great and who can show the world a great footballing side to revel in after a 2-0 defeat against Sunderland. Also I think we are too snidey, he's used to the clean ethical play of the RS.

Or in other words.. He'll be an utterly delusional bellwhiff by now, and its too late for him to be saved even at his age.

You've got a complex mate. I was merely suggesting that maybe we actually give Sterling a few years before writing him off, eh?

I seem to remember similiar posts on opposing forums about Cristiano Ronaldo when we signed him. "He's gonna be crap", "He's all style, no substance", "He's not going to ever become a world class player" etc.

I am just saving you the embarrassment in the long run ;)

Oh and Sterling won't be at Liverpool in 2/3 years anyway - he'll actually want to win trophies.

Fuleco doesn't have a complex.

Sorry, but I like him. As a player. Brave, quick, skilful, eye for a goal. Lets face it, if he was in a blue shirt we would be jizzing.

Yeah, he might explode like SWP. But from what I have seen he is very good. He was easily Englands most potent threat last night for example.

Which I know, is like saying Bristol City are the best team in the SW of England atm.

Torpedo AFC do NOT like this.

Is Surridge better than Coleman at the moment?

Oh, they're too different to compare?

So are Sterling and Barkley.

Can't get over the bollocks getting spewed about Sterling. He's a very good player, but he's not as great as he's being made out to be at all.

Barkley is going to pipe many a Sterling fanboy down when he gets fit an back into the swing of things.

Comparisons are ok if you set the parameters.....are you comparing like to like - that's the easier option. If you aren't comparing like to like, you have to break it down to areas of expertise and it gets more difficult to assess. With Barkley and Stirling, two excellent young talents, even their skill levels are difficult to weigh up as Stirling has the man beating mazy dribble as his tour de force whereas Ross has the man beating power run as his. I still wouldn't swap Ross for Stirling....hes ours and we have the best of him to come.
