Hilarious and pathetic at the same time the way Gerrard is still desperately clinging to headlines in spite of his "all Ive done is media since coming here" whining over in L.A. The fella's in the press more than when he was perpetuating the weak saga of his departure from the RS because he was surplus to requirements. Ironic now that he chooses to lecture Stirling and his "carry on" ....

He wants to leave doesn't he ? Doesn't want to play for Rodgers anymore. Gerrard seems to forget his own "carry on" over signing for Chelsea - after Instanbul when he said "I thought I wasn't wanted.." One fan on lfchistory.net encapsulated it thus...
"Last year he messed us about. Wanted to leave, changed his mind..we got on with it. This year the exact same thing happens but after we've won the Champions League ? Who the **** does he think he is ?
I'll need to know more about it for me to be remotely happy with him. If Parry and Rafael are happy with it then i'll respect that as i respect them immensely but at the moment i cannot see me singing Gerrard's name for a long time - if ever.
He's " fully committed " to the club ? That sounds nice. But if he is he will swallow his pride and hand over the armband. He becomes one of the team and shows the club it's not about him but about Liverpool FC.
Because of last year he put doubts into many peoples minds..after this ? Once is poor. Twice is a ****ing joke.
We'll probably hear some spin in the next couple of days as the club try and repair some of the damage but this has been a horrible mess and the only people i see that are to blame are Gerrard's advisors, other clubs but also Gerrard himself.

So the hypocrite did it twice. Hes still pulling the wool over them though managing to segue his criticism of Stirling into a vanity project for himself via the patsy, dozy hole Plug Henderson....

"I don't think there's a more fitting player to take that armband off me.
"I see a lot of my game in Jordan's game and what I like about him is he's very humble."

Even for his perpetual myth generating engine he's been brazenly hypocritical over Sterling:

Liverpool's owners are prepared to keep forward Raheem Sterling, 20, in the reserves rather than allow him to leave for below their valuation. (Daily Mirror). That would allow wee Raheem to have a rest before he is transferred to City in the winter or can become a free agent next summer. When he can buy out his contract.
