Hate to say it, but they are going to pick a trophy up and a CL spot this season. That jammy draw shows what sort of season we can expect.

Just to prove the point that, for the most part, their 2 legged games are not seeded to give the higher ranked side 2nd legs at home - though in recent years that was the case for the odd round after qualification from group stages.

I think some high up people want them playing at the best level for financial reasons.

Maybe something to do with television figures, who can say? However if you were to toss a coin 100 times the probability of it landing heads 66 times (3 SD from the mean) would be low - 1% maybe, so you can be sure that 71% (or even the 64% over the larger sample of 130 odd cases) is pretty much off the scale in terms of probability - or, if you prefer, luck.

I think you're more right than me with the TV figures. I remember how much ITV and Sky would over promote the matches before hand, and also make out how magical this evening at Anfield is during the pre match and play, as a second leg was always more exciting.

It's definitely a suspect probability - it'll never be investigated but certainly raises a few eyebrows

Sorry if I forget all the methodology as it's been over 20 years since I studied all this stuff.

You forgot to factor in the warm and cold balls, and the lifetime contract signed with Satan in the early 1960s. Once you put them in the likelihood grows exponentially.

Like you, I hate saying it, but I reckon they'll win the League cup and FA cup, and finish in one of the CL spots.

People said that when they reached two finals last season - and it still didn't happen.

It's not even November and they've already won trophies and finished top 4. No wonder there's a collective mental block when we play them. 'Oh, they're good enough for this.... They'll win that' and all the rest of the cryarsing that goes with it. Just turn it in, will yas?

Have as much faith in us doing well as you have in them spawning summit and we might end up competitive for a change.

They're blaggards. Full stop.
