ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

The league cup still being a thing is weird tbh.

Anyway, they won't win the league. Won't even get close.

Your wrong lad, winning the league for them is finishing 8thand ensuring they stay within 3 places of their big rivals the mancs. Their saviour managed to lead his team (he managed for the majority of the season) to a worse finish than two of their allegedly big rivals worst two managers in decades.

They will win their league again this season. It won't correlate to what anyone else accepts as a league (which will be a conspiracy) and Klopp will remain the best manager in the world amongst the tin foil hat wearers. He hammered the Mancs 0-0 last week after all.

Meanwhile the rest of us will be trying to get on with our lives without the minor irritation that is LFC and their fans.

People said that when they reached two finals last season - and it still didn't happen. :D

It's not even November and they've already won trophies and finished top 4. No wonder there's a collective mental block when we play them. 'Oh, they're good enough for this.... They'll win that' and all the rest of the cryarsing that goes with it. Just turn it in, will yas?

Have as much faith in us doing well as you have in them spawning summit and we might end up competitive for a change.

They're blaggards. Full stop.

I expect to beat them every time we play them, so no mental block for me. Just think they the way they play makes them more suited to the cups (even though they lost 2 finals last season) than winning the league.

Just to add balance I reckon we will finish in the top 6, so I have every faith in us.

It takes a bold manager to win a cup, not necessarily the best team. Liverpool will coast past Leeds in the LC and if they make it to the final I can easily see them ending Klopp's poor recent cup final runs.

As for the PL: they wont win it, they're not good enough in defence to get near that. But they will get in amongst the CL places. So far I've seen no four teams that's better than them. And the lack of a draining European competition will pay off after the New Year when Arsenal, City and Spurs are backed up with fixtures and have the extra games in their legs.

If they do get CL football they'll attract real talent next summer, and with Klopp they stand a hell of a good chance of getting themselves back at the top table.

All sadly very possible and if it happens, heaps even more pressure on Everton to - for want of a better phrase - pull our collective fingers out and make things happen !!

All very well - But (Not aimed at you, it's a metaphor) I've heard pigs fart before mate. I've seen zero from them to suggest even a top 4 spec, and certainly not one on merit. There's at least one of their Burnley results in them per 6 games they play. That won't change this season. Not while their defence is in that state, or while klopp's still spouting bollox (So almost never in that respect)

We know cack teams can win pots - they know it more than most. A pot's the best they can hope for, and even then they'd more than likely spawn it, like they have 95% of their pots since their last title.

Getting leeds at home is par for the course. However, trophies aren't won in November. The mindset that it's their year coming from other club's fans (especially ours) is what they thrive off. Don't do them the pllatitudes. Sit back, say nowt, watch them get to within touching distance and enjoy it all the more when they flop.

And if they do deign to spawn a pot, don't forget to remind them of how they did it. And yes - deal with being called a 'bitter'. It's all they've got.

Give them 'kall.

Yep. Always has done and always will do. For the most part during Moyes time here (2005 excepted) Liverpool were poor and won nothing of note. So an Everton team coasting along at an average 7th place was more than acceptable. If they ever start winning PL titles again or even challenging for it year in year out it'll pressurise the club to get closer than we have been of late.

The thing is Dave, we keep talking about getting closer/matching them... when we should be doing everything possible to tear past them and start to set targets for others to envy and aspire to.

I'm fed up with us being 'also-rans' I want us to be what our motto demands !!

I dont see them taking off this season; I dont claim they are the very best or a team that will defo win cups. I do see them nudging into the top four quite handily though. That would be a disaster for us.

Klopp is a real motivator. If he gets the chance to sign top quality he will take Liverpool to the next level.

That's the spirit! ;)

Give yersel' peace about them in the cups. They're blagging once again.

I know what you're saying, but 7th was never 'acceptable' to me in any way shape nor form.. Not when if we'd signed a player in any January window to kick us on to a higher finish.

And as you replied to the message that we'll need to pull our fingers out - well that's why we never did much better than 7th...And he's still here.

I am too mate. But it will take shed loads of cash.

I really thought last spring when Moshiri tipped up that we'd actually stumbled into a new era. Anything looked possible. I'm sorry to say that I dont feel like that anymore.

Keep the faith Dave, keep the faith ;)

Nailed it !!!

Motivator, schmotivator. Hasn't got that good a record in finals has he?

They're the same blag merchants they were under gnashers. Klopp changed nowt.

You keep believing that mate. He may not have a good record in Finals, but he has won Finals and seems to get to them quite regularly. It wasn't so long ago people were saying he's got a lot of average players, a rebuilding job was on the cards. He's kept pretty much the same team and has got them performing, to such an extent that they're now 2nd favs for the League. Score loads of goals and mostly without playing a out and out Striker. They attack in numbers, goals can come from anywhere. If only we could commit numbers whilst attacking instead of relying solely on Rom to come up with something. Regardless of what you think of him/them, you can't help but look on and accept that he's doing a good job. Not quite sure how you can claim Klopp has changed nowt from the Gnashers regime. He's changed it massively, it's there for all to see. If only our highly rated Manager could get our under performers performing. If only our highly rated Manager was as good.
