ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Sources close to the club have been briefed with a - 'largest transfer budget in their history' line though, rumoured to be around 70m - coincidentally - what figure that Coutinho (50m?) would end up fetching, throw in Sahko who will go for 15-20m, Markovic (5-10m tops), Sturridge (15m?) and possibly a couple of other peripheral players (Lucas, Stewart, Mignolet and likely 1 or 2 of their 'amazing' academy lads for overinflated fees like Ibe went for - say 20-25m in total)

They will do a smoke and mirrors thing again will FSG - spend around 110-115m pound - so will sem on the surface to be doing a big spend spree, when in reality they are just selling to buy.

Will also predict something - IF they suddenly dip and drop out the top 4 race over the next month, then last 3-4 games of the season they will start playing 3-4 of their academy kids and some fringe players like Steward, Sturridge etc in order to increase their sale values.
Nobody in their right mind is parting with 15 million quid for Sturridge. The only team that desperate is West Ham and they've been burned with overpaying for RS crocked strikers before.

No chance the Annie Rd gets built.

They aren't arsed about seats, it's all about boxes and expensive seats they can rinse people for. You can't do that behind the goal, no one pays top dollar to sit behind a goal hence why it got chased.

I hope they do though, the more money they waste on that dump now the better. I'd hate them to get a new stadium even in Stanley Park. Just leave them were they are now and watching them gradually falling behind in the pitch and off.

There already 10 years deeper into a demise now and it doesn't look like changing any time soon.

They're signing frees, there big money buys are £30 million when lots of clubs are spending that, the big clubs spend double that or multiple £30 signings each year, they do one. They build a new poor quality stand everyone else is building proper stadiums or has plans for one.

It's happening right in front of there eyes, they're just blind to it now cause they're not the yanks they had before. Whisper it quietly, but these yanks aren't much better, they'll rinse them as well.

I agree Boris, except with the bit about the new stand/new stadium. What will Anfield ever hold, maybe 60,000 - 65,000. They would be insane to start from scratch. If they build a new stadium, it would be similar size. Many examples of new stadiums built around England and Europe and not improving fortune of the club, Juventus being the biggest example. The sensible thing, from all points was to expand the stand. Easy for FSG, and adds greater value to the club when they sell.

But yes, no way they expand Anfield Road. FSG are all about corporate boxes.

[Poor language removed] off Dave, little dwarf shows up 1 game in 20, when hes playing against League 2 defenders he looks great.
He's class mate.

I cant stand them, but I recognise good players.

That said, even Lovren was made to look like Beckenbauer today.

Nobody likes a smart alec Dave, and it's mould, not mold !
I think you spell it both ways...stand to be corrected.

But Coutinho is a class act. I think he struggled to get back after injury this season, but he's going to drag them to decent results from now on in.
