In this day and age of football chairman being the bain of most clubs existence, putting them into debt or simply running them into oblivion, i would like to point you all into the direction of the now departed Eddie Thompson.

The chairman of my first love, Dundee United sadly passed away today, however his legacy will live on for many years to come.

His passion desire and love for Dundee United is truly unparralelled by any other chairman across the globe, and despite his protracted battle against cancer he has ALWAYS put the club first and even relented on cancer treatment some years ago for fear of damaging the interests of the club. Most clubs can only dream of having a fan in charge, we have lived this experience and are now the better off for it.

True Legends never die, he was certainly one of these. RIP eddie 1940-2008!
